It's a great little bed The instructions recommend an electric drill. I put it together myself in about an hour or so. I usually have my husband do this stuff. But I figured it out just fine. One of the eight long screws was the wrong size. So I had to do a run to Home Depot. Took a star off for that but otherwise it's a great little bed that seems sturdy. The corners are a little pointy for the young ones. And if putting right up against wall, there will be a small gap but it's ok for fitting bedspread into.

LK We purchased two of these platform beds originally for our guest bedroom. However, our teenagers really liked the look of these sleek modern beds. Therefore, we moved the beds into their rooms. Our son chose to place the mattress directly onto the slats while our daughter wanted a higher bed and is currently using the box spring and mattress. We have had these platform beds for over 4 years and have held up very well. We have no scratches, dents or chips in the beds. The beds have clean lines and are stable. I do like the darker finish on them as they look more expensive than what we paid. I am able to use the canister vacuum to easily clean under the beds. They are very easy to assemble. I would highly recommend these beds

Hope you don't mind sag The bed is nice: it's solid; it has good hardware, good design, the price is ok for what you get. It arrived in almost perfect condition. BUT, the slats are 2.5 x 1/4" x 40' and they sag with even 130 lb on them. The slats are the weak spot on this design. I have no idea what they were thinking (besides "let's save some money on appropriate sized slats). SO, be prepared to spend another $30 on 3/4" boards. I went to Home Depot and got #2 1"x8"x 10 foot boards and they cut them into six 40" lengths. I just laid them on top of the flimsy ones and NOW the best is rock solid -- without even screwing the thicker boards (got lazy). Before it creaked and groaned. Not any more with the thicker slats. I was going to give the bed a 4/5, but he extra time and the money should really take the review to a 3/5.

Worth the money but not much more I was looking for an inexpensive platform bed for my daughter and found this one after some searching. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the purchase, but be aware of what you're getting before you buy. Pros: 1. Low cost 2. Relatively solid 3. Simple construction (if you have the right tools) 4. Finish looks decent from a distance 5. Just 45 minutes from opening the box to adding the mattress (again, if you have the right tools) 6. Low cost again (That's why you're buying this bed after all, right?) Cons: 1. "Solid wood" construction is true, but it doesn't mean much. The rails are fingerjointed, meaning they're made up of multiple smaller pieces glued end to end. It's an OK approach for the money, but it's hardly fine furniture. The legs are solid is the same way a chunk of 2x4 is solid, that is to say lightweight wood in one piece, but again, they're nothing fancy. (In fact, they may actually be pieces of 2x4 cut and stained to look more upscale.) 2. The finish is sprayed on heavily, is very shiny, and only looks good from a distance. Up close, not-so-much. 3. The over-sized "feature" of the frame is just marketing language to cover poor engineering, I think. Yes, your blankets will probably cover the gap, but there's a good inch of space all around a standard twin mattress 4. The slats are a rather low-grade plywood and as such don't have a lot of bend strength. There are plenty of them, though, so it's probably not an issue for average-weight people. Just in case, I took my daughter's Bunky Board from her old bunk and put it on the frame to help add some rigidity to the slats 5. The screwdriver supplied to install the screws in the slats is a tiny pocket driver and *might* be good enough to open the battery compartment on a toy, but it certainly isn't capable of driving all the screws you need to attach the slats. A power drill with a driver bit is a much better option and will save you a lot of time and aggravation 6. My set came with four extra holes drilled in the headboard end. For me it's not a big deal since the bed is against a wall, but it's not a great sign of high-end quality control

greatest platform bed We have been using this bed for a few months and my son loves it. The quality is great, the assembling is reasonably easy and it is very sturdy. I also ordered another brand (Murray) from Great Offer Stock but this Scandinavia one is way better. If you need a platform bed go with this one, you won't feel regret.

Poor quality support I recently purchased this bed for a nursery as a secondary bed for use when needed. After less than one month of use, one of the side rails snapped in two. The side rails are thinly cut and made from low quality wood. The rest of the bed is simple and look good, but I find myself now having to retrofit a 2x2 in the place of the snapped rail. If you are of the heavier set, avoid.
