These canisters really put out the heat and crackle and flicker like a wood fire. We can really heat up our great room with just 3 little canisters in our corner fireplace because the heat stays in the room instead of getting sucked up the chimney like a wood burning fireplace. They last almost exactly 3 hours as promised. Just remember to remove the labels before you light them because if you forget you'll need to vacuum out your fireplace from the label ash left behind.
