Overall these are great and I would definitely buy again - it's a great set. The only reason I give it only four stars is because the holes in the block are not lined up exactly right, so the row of steak knives don't sit evenly in a straight line and some are a bit loose/wobbly in the block...I swapped them around and made sure they were inserted properly just in case, but I believe it's a defect in the block itself. Would still buy again.
I love Chicago Cutlery! It is a beautiful set and is a perfect fit for my apartment. It comes with everything that I need...knives, knife sharpener, knife block, and cutting boards. I can move the knife block anywhere in my kitchen and it doesn't take up space. The rubber grip on the handle of the knife makes it easier to cut or chop veggies and fruits even when your hands are wet, you still have a good grip.
Nice set of knives, the block was a bit smaller than I had expected but nonetheless still nice. Bought for my daughter's first apartment and her kitchen is Red and Black so it fits perfectly. Nice quality for a first time purchase for first apartment.
Over the years I have spent a lot of money on knife sets. This one is great. Has everything I need. They are nice and sharp and the wood block is nice and sturdy. So glad I bought them

Of course, at the price, these were not going to be great knives. I wanted the ever sharp blades. The block is compact and fits nicely on my limited counter space. I'll use these until they wear out and then buy a more expensive set next time. For the money, they are fine.
Have always wanted a nice knife block set. After 40 years it's time ... purchased for my husband as a Christmas Gift. Can't wait to use them.
