Good value! I am overall happy with this purchase. A very good value and I am pleased with its performance. While it is heavy, that is the price you pay for glass and good construction. I have put it through the paces and there are some things you have to get used to. Some soft focus but not that you can really notice. I tried cheaper lenses and returned them, this one had everything I needed, especially the optical stabilizer, which has 2 modes. The sunshade and carrying case are a big plus. I did purchase a UV filter to protect the front optics, so keep that in mind and purchase one up front. I think the main issue though, for my wife, was the cost, since the lens cost more than my camera, a Canon XSI. But you truly get what you pay for. I am pleased with the lens and would recommend it to others.

Sigma 150-500mm OS AF APO DG HSM Purchased the Sigma 150-500mm OS AF APO DG HSM lens for a Canon 30D camera. The lens has everything you need shipped with it, the carrying case, lens strap and sun hood, you need to purchase the 86mm UV filter separate. The lens attaches to the camera body as easy as all other Canon lens. The auto focusing and zoom has been great for some wild life photos, such as the deer's. The stabilizer is great, but could consume a lot of the camera battery.
