Solid piece but darker than I expected. Shelf is more like that dark expresso look than reclaimed wood look and poles are like wrought iron black.

Terrible assembly experience. Prepare to compensate for poor materials and just bad manufacturing. Steps 3 + 4 of 5 were missing, screws often failed to grip, the vertical bars were so badly bent, they demanded a lot of negotiation. All that and I had an allen key set for my drill but still had to fight for every tightening. If I had used the supplied tool, I would have absolutely given up. Worst yet, the brace bracket behind the tower had misaligned holes and we had to just scrap it entirely. Nice when set up and I'm sure it'll last for years but prepare yourself for assembly. Would have much rather paid for a task rabbit to complete for me.
