"I ordered this and it came packaged as a non slip pad for a queen mattress - did this happen to more of you? And will it actually work for a rug without it ruining the flooring underneath if it is intended for a mattress? Very odd. But I don't want to deal with the return if it will actually function as a rug pad."

Does the job Yes, this item is sold as an anti-slip pad for mattresses, however, this product is used in multiple ways, such as kitchen cabinet liner, a grip for opening stubborn jar lids, etc. As a rug pad, it works perfectly well, keeping rugs from slipping around on smooth flooring. My rug has stayed in place without being skewed to the side from walking and cats running around.

I purchased one of these too for a rug and did notice that it stated "for a queen mattress" - I was uncertain myself, but as it also stated it was for a rug too, I took a chance and purchased it . This was for use in a villa rental that we own so our management company took delivery of it and have used it under the rug. Our management company is excellent and they would have told me if it was not serviceable for purpose. I've had no feedback from them so it is obviously working fine. (It is on a tiled floor by the way). Hope this helps.
