This bowl is only 4"x4" at the bottom so not as large as I expected from the description or photo. The size is fine for side salads and great if one person is making salad a meal. I love that the serving pieces hang on the bowl. The first set that I received was poorly made and not properly sanded but O made the exchange easy. I have been using the replacement set for months. Some of the wood is starting to strip from the edge.
This is an addition to the set that I purchased. The bowl is very large. I would have liked it better if it was smaller.
You wouldn't necessarily think a simple, all black bowl would b beautiful, but this one is. There is an embossed textured simple design that really makes the bowl gorgeous. The bowl itself is very thick, giving the impression it's of quality. The size is perfect for my single serving salads. I like the sophistication of this bowl and will likely order Red Vanilla brand again - maybe a whole set sometime in future. The packaging was done with much care with the though of fragile while transporting in mind. The price was very nice too.
The pattern is fun and whimsical. The dishes are sturdier than the Corelle, but not as heavy as stoneware. They are so unique and fun!
