Great barstools These are exactly as pictured. They are heavy enough that they don't tip when little ones climb up them. I saw basically the same item (although 2 inches shorter) in one of the "trendy" furniture stores right after I received these and I felt like I had a very good bargain because I paid less than 1/2 what they charge at the "trendy" place. The quality was identical.

Solid, nice color, good price These stools were perfect for use on the bar-height side of my kitchen island. They are nice looking and feel very solid. I was able to assemble them easily (and I am not very good at stuff like that). The color of the finish is very attractive. With the saddle back shape of the stool, I am able to push them up close to the island and they do not have a very wide "footprint;" still allowing lots of space to walk past them. These stools are very similar to those purchased by a friend at a name-brand store for a much greater price. These are a very good value.

Cherry stools Look good and easy to put together. Wood plugs to cover screws are loose fitting so not good to use if you have small children. One (we ordered a total of 4 stools) of the seats came with the wood broken but Great Offer Stock quickly replaced the part.

They are black - but - what I would call a warm black with a orange/brown undertone, darker than espresso but more like that than super black - the finish is a soft sheen so they blend in with other wood colors very well - and was the reason I bought them as extra seating.

Mine are truly black with no brown. I have the dark walnut as well and there is a big difference in the two colors. If you need to match other black finishes definitely go with the black. They are beautiful stools with a small footprint. I love them.

They are a very dark black brown... their impression is nearly black... I have 4, and there is some variation in the colour of the wood (these are not upholstered) but my two pairs were very uniform in overall appearance... and they go very well with very dark cocoa upholstery...

I had other counter height chairs ( not stools ) that were walnut with black leather - so I felt better buying the black stools as I did not want the walnut finish to conflict with the chairs I already had. So - I can't answer your question regarding the depth of color of the walnut - but I can say - the black is a dark "warm" black stain - like ebony and they look great!
