Pros:
- I was so happy to find TALL nightstands! Most nightstands and side tables are 22-24” tall, which is way too short for my liking, and these are 28” tall. They’re also a bit more shallow than most, which was exactly what I needed for my space because they have to sit near the doorway to our small bedroom.
- Easy assembly. It took my husband a little over an hour to put two of these together.
- Sturdy construction. The drawers pull out smoothly and there is no wobble to the nightstands at all.
Cons:
- Cheap materials. I ordered two of these and both of the nightstand tops arrived broken. They are hollow and were crushed under the weight of their own packaging. I chatted with customer service and they were able to quickly send out replacement tops. Just plan on having to wait a few extra days to assemble and use these.
- Cheap exterior finish. It’s hard to explain, but the sides of the laminate are whitish and can be seen all long the top edges of the nightstand. I went over the whitish edges with a brown Sharpie then went over them again with the included scratch marker. The scratch marker was too cheap to cover the white entirely, so you’ll also need a brown Sharpie if you're particular like me.
- Cheap interior finish. The interior of the drawers are just particle board and have no laminate finish over any part of them.
Despite the problems I had with broken tops and cheap finish, I’m very happy with these. They look really nice and substantial now that they’re finished and in place. If you’re curious about the color, “washed black” is actually a very dark brown base with black woodgrain (much like *** brown-black furniture).
