    This bed has not been weight tested. If you have a base you can leave the slats out and have the base sit on the floor. If not, platform beds are recommended. This bed is a regular bed.

  "Is the dark blue bed shown the "twilight blue" or "haze blue" color?? Also, does this bed work with ONLY a thick mattress, no box spring? (it says three slats, so perhaps needs a boxspring, even thought it looks like a basic platform bed?)"

    To clarify, the dark blue is the twilight blue. This bed requires a box spring or other form of support since three slats will not support a mattress alone.
