Does the job well This is a nice, sturdy rug pad with rubberized bottom and rough felted top. I had to trim one end to fit the dimensions of my new rug. I had to use a razor blade (exacto knife) to cut through it-scissors were not strong enough because of the thickness. I have purchased similar rug pads from Great Offer Stock and they all seem to work the same.

Pricey but worth it Wow, this was a surprise. I couldn't imagine paying more than a few dollars for a non-sliding rug pad - something you never look at, right? Well, the reviews were so consistently excellent I thought I'd go for it. Glad I did. This is truly a well-made product. It really, really does the job. My rugs don't move (on a tiled floor), even with the dogs racing over them. They have a nice thickness that enhances the plushness of the rug. I got the 4 x 6 and it's true to size (in fact I wish it had been a little smaller because it comes right up to the edges of the rug. Can't really criticize a product for being too perfect, right?). Highly recommended.

Great pad! These seem to work better with natural fiber rugs, as well as our wool rugs. they grab the back and really do a good job keeping the rug from sliding or shifting on the pad itself. we never have to realign the rug. I like to use a slighty thicker pad for the bedrooms, and smaller for the higher traffic areas. Pads usually come a little on the larger side of the size so you can trim it if necessary. Overall great price and great pad!

I can't see any reason this pad wouldn't work for that purpose. It would be less likely to move on the carpeting than a mesh only type pad, because this one is heavier.

I bought several of these pads for area rugs on hardwood floors and they are working pretty well, The 15' runner at the entry slides off the runner on one side but it is not such a big deal. I would not use this pad on any carpet that had a very thick pile or texture because I think it would wear into the carpet after some time.

I have hardwood floors (though not engineered), and this pad works for normal use...no wrestling, nor foot races. I have a coffee table on one rug w/pad, and it won't move easily, and the 2nd rug w/pad is placed on floor in front of sofa (with no table on top), and does move a little, but over time...again, it doesn't move "easily"...I hope this helps you in your decision...?

I have several of these pads under area rugs over engineered hardwood floors and have experienced no problem with them. They do not stick to the floor like the woven kinds of pads I tried previously. These also provide a little bit of padding under the rug as well. As for slippage, I do have a coffee table on the large rug and a couple footstools on the other smaller rug. The large rug with pad underneath doesn't move at all. The smaller rug does move a tiny bit, and I realign it on the pad occasionally. (Usually less than an inch.)

We built our home 3 years ago and we have engineered hardwood floors. We are noticing the area without the rug is lighter in color then the area with the rugs. We feel that this is due to sunlight fading the floor where there is no rug. We have one pad that does an excellent job staying in place and another that constantly moves (both from Stock.com). For this reason I would not use a felt pad without the rubber unless the rug is secured under a table or sofa. .

Yes, felt works great on wood floors. I have the felt pad in my dining area under a seaweed carpet and it works well, I found that rubber padding leaves a residue when its removed and a chore to remove the stickiness left behind. Go with the felt

Hello Sue, this item has been tested on some types of flooring and has not left a stain, however you should check with your flooring manufacturer and installer as it is possible that the glue the floor was applied with could react with the latex in backing and create that yellowing effect.
