Love it!!! This is a great buy. I expected to see only a glimpse of the headboard after placing king sized pillows up against the headboard, but to my surprise, I still have 15 inches of exposed beautifully tufted headboard which is very elegant; looks more expensive than it cost, with quality fabric. I am very satisfied.

  • This headboard causes cancer...
    Verified Purchase

There is no indication on this site but on the back of the headboard is a warning that this headboard contains chemicals known in California to cause cancer. I decided to look into it. It seems that the Polyurethane foam used in the board (97% of the product) is a respiratory toxin. ***"Avoid furniture cushions and mattresses made from polyurethane foam/plastic as well as any fabric with acrylic, polyester or polyvinyl chloride, all of which can be toxic to the respiratory system. Polyurethane foam, which can cause bronchitis, coughing, and skin and eye irritations, may also release toluene diisocyanate, which can produce severe lung problems." I will be returning this...

This is way darker than the picture. It says and looks like light sand but is almost a dark taupe. I decided to keep it as it works in my house but am disappointed it is not lighter.

  • Great headboard - a little shorter than expected
    Verified Purchase

Excellent quality headboard, beautiful color. The headboard metal beam connections were a little wobbly at first, but once I got it adjusted it was a non issue. Headboard is a little shorter (especially if you have a pillowtop bed) than expected but still beautiful!

I love this headboard. The tufting is nice and deep so it doesn't look cheap. It's light weight metal frame instead of the heavy wood frames, so easy to move and install. Only complaint is that it's not as tall as it looks in the picture. Otherwise very satisfied.

Mattress Firm has the universal bed frames and that worked for me. I also make sure that I get the Cal King to ensures it fits. Good luck!

  • Q:

"Which color is pictured in your pictures above? My BR is very light blue/ grey and white with white dresser and additional driftwood dresser set. Which would match best with blue combo pillows? Can you send me a pic of each?"

    • A:

If you click on the website pictures, the color is listed in the lower corner. I personally ordered the light beige based on other reviews. Other people had commented the sand color was more grey/taupe. I was looking for a tan/khaki/beige. I also have light slate blue walls and creamy white furniture.

  • Q:

"I can't tell from the customer photos or site photos if the light beige or sand is actually a lighter color fabric?? Most of the customer photos that say light beige look like "sand" in the website photos."

    • A:

To me, the color on the photo is very accurate. I would describe it as an ivory color. Very nice, soft off white. I'm an interior designer and work with color all of the time, I would consider light beige or sand a little darker than I would describe this headboard. Keep in mind however that fabric dye lots will vary so what you receive may be slightly lighter or darker than the photo. I believe this headboard would work with about any color scheme.

    • A:

I have the sand one and it looks both grey and beige. From the photos the light beige color looks like it has pink undertones.

    • A:

I have the sand. It's beautiful and a very light taupe color. I can see some light gray tones in it, but I would call it a light taupe. The pictures in the comments are very realistic. I put a picture of mine in the review but did not list the color because it said sold out on the sand but I see it's back in stock. I LOVE this headboard.

    • A:

I have the "sand" too. It is light gray. I guess the name "sand" is confusing depending the location cause there are a lot of color sands depending where the beach is... Is it California, Caribbean or New Zealand sand????? Is just so confusing. I would call it light gray or gray taupe. Is not beige and it doesn't have pinkish tones at all.

    • A:

It's definitely beige. In the photos it appears a little lighter, hope this helps.

    • A:

I agree. Picture is very accurate. It's beautiful.

    • A:

The color that best describes this head board is linen, I painted my walls with this color and it is a great match.

    • A:

we have it and it is a real sand color and much like a fine belgian linen and we love it!

In your research, make a point to educate yourself about how to appropriately evaluate threats, I recommend NIOSH as a resource. A basic understanding of the science in these matters will alleviate a lot of concern in the future.

    • A:

I took Nicola A.'s advice & went to NIOSH, but could not find anything about the use of Polyurethane Foam in a headboard. Perhaps Nicola A. could elaborate regarding what she knows or post a link to the information. Thank you.

  • Q:

"What is the height of the headboard itself (without the legs)? Can it be mounted to the wall if I purchase the correct brackets?"

    • A:

approx 26 1/4", i am sure with the proper hardware and finding studs in the wall, it could be mounted. Its a nice headboard.

  • Q:

"What does the backside of this look like? Is it finished in cloth or is it an open (uncovered frame). My headboard is a room divider for a studio and it needs to be finished on both sides."

    • A:

Back is black with metal legs exposed so not a good room divider.

    • A:

It is not covered in the same material as the front on the back. There is a black mesh type fabric but you can see the hardware that you bolt to a bedframe.

    • A:

It's a black thin fabric with the product warnings labels on it. The material is similar to what is use underneath the box springs or couch/chairs. This will not work for you.

    • A:

It is not finished on the back. It is black fabric with the metal support arms exposed. You may be able to cover the back with fabric.

"Can someone describe the color difference between the sand fabric and light beige? Colors vary greatly between manufactures. I would love a light sand but I saw one of the comments mentioned the sand was dark."

    • A:

I have the light beige. It's beautiful and will blend better in the dark sand

    • A:

the sand has more brown and the beige has a little blue. I put the sand in my sons and the beige in my daughters. both look great and have terrific back support

    • A:

"Has anyone found a matching fabric frame for this? Christopher knight makes one called the prima. However there is no sand option. Also there is picture of beige for the frame but the drop down list shows light tan. Is light tan the matching color to light beige for the jezebel head board?"

    • A:

I have my on frame, and work perfect to the headboard

  • Q:

"Do we have to supply our own king size bed frame...how do we know which bed frame would work? Would this work..*** Thanks"

    • A:

I ordered this exact headboard of which I love I previously had my own frame and it fits right on w/Screws. It's so comfy and they have the frame same maker for it as well, but my frame worked out well. U will love it like I do.

    • A:

I bought this headboard and used my existing frame, which was actually two twin frames. The legs on the headboard have an oblong slot for the screws and washers, which allows you to align the screws into the holes of your existing frame. This is a great product, and only took minutes to attach the legs to the padded headboard and to the frame. Enjoy!

    • A:

This headboard is designed to attach to most standard metal bed frames. Many other customers have chosen item# 13492627 to go with this headboard.

  • Q:

"does the mattress come with it"

    • A:

No, this is strictly a headboard that attaches to your bed frame

    • A:

No- it is just the headboard that is included.

HAS THE COMPANY FIXED THIS ISSUE???"

"How do you adjust the height of headboard? I also think something is off because its very squeaky. "

    • A:

The lever slides up my son said it was easy and it is tight not squeaky ...love this looks just like picture and looks expensive I am getting another for my daughter if they have other colors.

  • Q:

"I have read EVERY review and there is NO clear answer about the color. Can you tell me which one is more on the gray side and which one is on the yellow side. Thank you"

    • A:

I have the sand and it's definitely on the taupe/grey side.

    • A:

I have the sand color too. Def on the gray side.

    • A:

I agree the sand color leans towards gray, but it is a beautiful piece and looks great in our space.

    • A:

I have the sand & it is Definitely not on the yellow side. Beautiful headboard!

    • A:

Thank you everyone for your help. That made my decision much easier!!!

    • A:

I have both the sand and the light beige headboards. I feel they are neither grey or yellow toned...both are very neutral. I have browns and greys in the room I put the light beige one in and I have light beige and white in the room i put the sand one in. I can't say that I put one next to the other but I had to look at my past orders to see what color I really ordered...I would have told you they were the same color. If anything, the sand may be a bit of a deeper color. Hope this helps.

  • Q:

"My husband just assembled this on a standard frame. He says that this can only be used if it sits flush against the wall. I'm hoping he's wrong, especially since we have a window on this wall and its smashing the curtains. Is this headboard required to sit flush against a wall?"

    • A:

I also have this headboard flush against the because even though we tightened the screws, the headboard wobbled alot if it was not against the wall. We wanted maximum height with this headboard so ours sits at the highest possible level which may be why it wobbles. Maybe if you lowered the height of the headboard, it may not feel so loose when you attempt to sit up in bed and rest your back on it, without the wall for extra support.

    • A:

I have mine assembled on a standard king size frame. I can pull mine away from the wall it stands up right with no issues. My bedframe was not perfectly square and I had to bend the bedframe a bit to make it as it was originally. After I did that the new head board is perfect. I will say that you can't lean on the head board if it is away from the wall. It is not sturdy enough. Ask your hubby to check the bedframe it self. :)

"I have a tempurpedic bed that reclines/vibrate, it has its own base. Will this work for that? And what else do I need along wth this headboard?"

    • A:

The headboard needs to be attached to a bed frame.

    • A:

I cant really imagine the metal frame around my base. That would look weird

    • A:

I have a reclining bed frame. I used it with mine. the frame i have came with brackets so you could add a head board and a foot board. I think most manufacturers do. Hope this helps!

The sand looks grayer. The sand is more beige

      The sand looks grey

  • Q:

"Does this have to be attached to the bed frame, or can it be mounted to the wall behind the bed?"

    • A:

Has to be attached to frame

    • A:

It's designed to be attached to the bed frame. But if you supplied your own hardware to suit your situation, you could mount it to the wall instead.

    • A:

When you figure out how to mount to the wall, will you please share the instructions? I don't like it attached to bed frame and maybe its MY older frame that could be the issue but I prefer a wall mount.

    • A:

      Use French cleats.

  • Q:

"The pictures look like the back of this headboard is really tall but I read where this headboard is 26 inches high. Our mattress is 16 inches deep so that would mean the headboard would only be 10 inches above the mattress? Even a 14 inch mattress, which is fairly standard, would only leave 12 inches?"

    • A:

The headboard is adjustable. The mattress I have (and the frame) are about as tall as yours and the headboard will adjust so you see about 24-25" of it above the mattress. Shouldn't be a problem for you.

  • Q:

"which color is lighter sand or beige"

    • A:

Based on customer reviews, the sand colorway is darker than they envisioned and therefore, I would order light beige. For more opinions on the colors, I would suggest reading some of the customer reviews.
