Nice Looking Light, But Horrible Quality Control
Well, you get what you pay for with these lights... The lights I really wanted, which looked similar to these, were more than 3x the price, so I decided to take a gamble and buy these instead, two of them for over our new kitchen island. They showed up after a bit of delay (they ship direct from the marketplace seller, not Great Offer Stock, so shipping was a little slot), and the boxes were in good shape. I opened up one and put it together. Assembly was fairly easy, but it was a little difficult to get the wires through the extension pipe hangers. It looked really nice, but the inner glass cylinder wouldn't sit square inside the outer one, without a lot of careful adjustment.
Then, I opened the second one... I took out the outer glass cylinder and immediately noticed that the bubbles in the glass were MUCH larger (too large), slanted, and elongated compared to the first one. They didn't look remotely similar. So, I called Great Offer Stock and ordered a replacement (luckily, Overstock's customer service is wonderful - something I already knew). They immediately had a new one shipped out to me, but again I had to wait because it was coming from the marketplace seller.
The second one arrived, I opened the box and immediately looked at the outer glass cylinder. It looked the same as the first light, so I was satisfied, and set it aside until it was time to do the installation.
Fast forward 3 weeks, I finally start to assemble the second light because they were being installed the next day. Much to my surprise, I found that the second light was TOTALLY DIFFERENT from the first one!!! It was so obvious that they were made by different manufacturers, it wasn't even funny. Here were the differences:
1.) While the bubbles in the glass were the same size, it turned out the glass was more transparent in one than the other.
2..) The inner glass cylinder was a different diameter and height in one than the other.
3.) The connection collar for the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder was stainless steel in one and white painted metal in the other.
4.) The stainless steel connector from the glass shade to the stainless steel stem were different sizes from one to the other.
5.) The ceiling connection fixture was a different size and shape from to the other, so much so that they don't hang at exactly the same height.
6.) The first one I received was labeled as accommodating a 100 Watt bulb, as advertised, but the second one was shipped with a label saying it could only take a 75 Watt bulb.
On top of all of that, one of the two lights didn't come with the internal ceiling bracket mount that usually comes standard with every light fixture. Needless to say, I once again got on the phone with Overstock's customer service, and they are, once again, sending me a replacement light. I'm just going to send back whichever one doesn't match (hopefully the third one actually matches one of the other two!) but once again, it's going to be delayed because it has to ship directly from the marketplace seller.
Otherwise, I think these lights will look great once everything is said and done, but buyer beware: the cost is low because the quality control by the manufacturer is terrible.
