I love the design and entire look of this fan. When we built our house, the fans that they wanted to install were not to my liking. I needed a little more modern of a look and ended up finding it in this.

Hi johnwr, unfortunately we do not have recommendations on fans performing better with a 10 foot down rod. We can confirm it is possible to have additional down rods with a coupler to achieve this.
