The chair, in of itself, when undamaged, is a lovely looking piece. I ordered 4 chairs and one had a severely bent front leg (attempted to upload a pic of the damage, but denied the image, for some reason). was quick to replace the chair, but ended up sending me two replacements, rather than one. I'm actually glad they did, as one of the replacements had a bent leg as well. Also, nearly all of the plastic feet (to protect floors) were damaged. It looks like, when the person inserting them did so, they used a hammer to smash them in... which ended up smashing them, quite literally. Thankfully, even on my dark hardwood floors (the feet are light grey), the damage is not noticeable.
The chair seems very well made and the chrome is polished well. I like that the chrome bar, that goes across the back (at your back), is slightly curved, which is hard to see on the pics they have posted. The curve adds a nice touch.
As far as the comfort... One reviewer stated that these are "soft" chairs. Let me be very clear, these chairs are in no way, shape or form soft. Mine are as hard as a rock. They are fine to sit in for dining, but how anyone could sit on these and conclude that they are "soft" is beyond me.
I like the flat finish of the "leather". It's very much like the finish on a new, high-end leather car seat. I also like the low profile of the chairs. They work beautifully with my black metal and glass dining table.
