Great buy. The size was perfect for our medium size master bedroom 16'x18'. It puts off plenty of light, can't wait to install a dimmer though for ambiance. The instillation was pretty easy overall, just read the directions. I read a lot of reviews about how the crystals all came broken with no directions. It came in perfect condition none of the crystals were broken and there were adequate directions for the instillation. However, the single teardrop crystals are a little tricky, you can either use one of the loops that the strung crystals go into, as directed (on either side of the crystal disks) or choose to use thin wire (you will need to purchase) and wrap in between the two disks that are on the chandelier (when it arrives you'll understand what I am talking about when you open everything). I chose to use a thin wire and place the crystals where I wanted them, it looked much nicer and it didn't take that much more time (30 minutes or less).
I am a girl with limited experience in lighting, I have only installed one other light fixture in my life, and managed to do the entire project in 3 hours by myself in a room with 10 ft ceilings, including the extra step with the crystals.
I priced several other similar items and have to say this one exceeded my expectations for the price. The crystals are real glass and good quality. The iron sphere is, in fact, metal, it is a "aged bronze" which is more of a rod iron with a dry brushed accent of bronze, but still soft enough, not jet black. I was worried that the amount of crystals were too few, but really after hanging, it is exactly the right balance. I also want to say that there were many other similar options that were 24"-30" in diameter and much more expensive $350-$600. This one was less expensive because the diameter was only 17", the size is perfect, if it were bigger it would have overtaken the room (room size referenced above). Again, for me, this was perfect fit, a perfect look, and at an amazing price.
