two sets or one giant set... this was a great deal! the 8 pieces were easy to put together, and look sharp for the money. the cushions are stiff at first, but are breaking in just fine. we may stain the furniture a bit darker next season, but they are fine out of the box. the furniture feels solid, and is not flimsy or creaky. good buy!

Could have been a 5 Putting this set together was very easy. Getting an Allen wrench drill bit made a huge difference. The pieces are well made, fit together with no problems, and a nice color. I bought outdoor furniture covers because the write up warns about greying from sun/weather exposure and I didn't want that to happen. The covers added about a $*** more to the total expense.....not happy about that. The reason I cannot give this set a 5 is because the cushions, as well as being not very comfortable, only come in white; absolutely ridiculous - showing every spec of dirt instantly. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Pleasantly surprised I was shocked at the quality. Very easy to put together. Only drawback was the strong chemical smell. I had to put the box and items outside to put together. I live in west central Georgia & have owned this set since March. It's outside on a covered deck, but still gets a little wet with heavy rain. The set is beautiful & very well made. Easy to put together too. The fabric on the cushions is light in color, but unzip easily & I just throw the covers in the washing machine & they turn out like new! Highly recommend!

I think they are brass. We don't live near the beach or leave the furniture out in the rain so we haven't had any problem with rust. We really like the furniture. It looks similar to teak, but you can tell the difference.

"Could the wood be stained to a darker color?"

A:
Yes - but it was actually darker than we expected to begin with (a good thing for us). I took some fine steel wool to smooth it out a bit, then used an oil and wax polish (like for butcher blocks) and rubbed down the wood. It gave it just the look/color we wanted.

You can, but you will have to reapply the oil every few months. The oil doesn't actually extend the life of your furniture; it only gives you that golden color looks. You should avoid harsh cleaners or polish, avoid direct sunlight, and avoid direct contact with the elements if possible.

I am not sure what Dan is saying. Absolutely a good teak oil is essential and will indeed extend the life of the product. Make sure to apply as directed.

Yes, I applied a teak oil & it did darken the color some. Which i think looks better. Just cover the set with a tarp to protect from direct sunlight & other elements when not in use & it will help maintain the color & extend the life of the set.

No they do not fold nor would they stack well. However it is a really beautiful set. I hated the off white upholstery so I recovered with Tommy Bahama indoor outdoor fabric. its gorgeous!

Yes, it came in two fairly flat boxes. It is a lot of pieces and took a while to put together. They included the tool to use to put them together.
