We finally had a chance to unpackage this bed that was 1. Ordered by accident and 2. Told we couldn't cancel despite sending a cancelation minutes after the order. It is complete garbage. Flimsy wood, won't stay square, and the center legs broke the first night we laid on it. With a box spring and mattress, it is so high an average person cannot crawl into it. Also, the way it is made, with our mattress pushed all the against the headboard, it still hangs over the edge of the bed a good three inches. Do not buy this bed and if you already have... so sorry.

Beautiful bed. My husband is a large fella and we have a really heavy mattress with a box spring. The bed felt solid and sturdy. Great piece for the price! Added a lot of luxury to our bedroom

  • poor quality!

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This is a super low quality product. Sad to say, we had to toss it out the door after a month's use. I liked modern look, but the unfinished wood and poor craftsmanship was an issue. I started seeing MILDREW and MOLD SPORES growing on the side. I wasn't sure what it was so I wiped it off. A few days later, that same ring of mold grew in the same spot. This is due to the unfinished wood and poor quality material in addition to the humidity of the air. Also, after regular use, the legs and base broke. The wood slack supporting the bed is extremely weak. One of the slack didn't even line up and wasn't long enough to reach across the frame! Ridiculous. Good thing we got rid of this!

  • gorgeous!

I was a worried about reading other reviews about the quality, but I thought it was great. Our room is not very large, but replacing a queen sleigh bed with this lower profile worked great. Two things that made it work seamlessly - we replaced the 5 slats provided with sturdier 2x4s and used the existing pegs that go in them. We also got a slimmer box spring. The bed is at a perfect height and was easy to assemble (our contractor doing work at the house took about 20-30 minutes)

The bed arrived in three parcels - each easy to move to its ultimate location. The bed color is a beautiful and sophisticated grey - soft to the touch and easy on the eye. Assembly was straight forward following the enclosed instructions. The process of assembly took about an hour - no excessive force needed or real skill outside of following the directions. The result is beautiful and such an added treasure to the house. I would recommend using a box spring on this bed. I would also suggest that one unpack all the pieces and let them "air" out before assembly and use: the glue used to hold the support boards together was quite overpowering at first. After a few days of "airing" out the fumes dissipated. Enjoy - this is a real winner!

Good quality headboard and frame but the picture makes the headboard look higher than it truly is. Easy assembly too.

  • Looks great!
    Verified Purchase

It is decent for the price. You obviously cannot compare to a bed that costs over 1000 dollars. The nails do not line up perfectly, but still looks great from afar. The material itself isn't heavy duty or anything, but should stand up with no problems. The bed does not come with slates, so you must have slates or box springs. The item is true to color.

The bed came in 3 separate packages on the same day. Easy to put together- completed the same afternoon all by myself (female 5ft 2, 120lbs). I just had my brother check to make sure everything was screwed in tight. Nice design and sturdy. Happy with my purchase.

This is a beautiful headboard and bed for the price. The first one arrived with some damage and Great Offer Stock promptly replaced the headboard at no cost and didn't require me to send the damaged one back. That is amazing customer service!! Would definitely recommend.

  • Q:

"How many boxes does this come in? Is it normal for them to arrive on separate days?"

    • A:

This bed frame should arrive in 3 boxes.

    • A:

3 boxes all my came at the same time

I believe it comes in 3 boxes. I have received 2 of 3 boxes so far which delivered on different days. However, I'm still missing a headboard

  • Q:

"Just purchased, no complaints. We have hardwood floors and want to make extra sure the bed doesn't shift. Recommendation that doesn't include area rug? Specific brand and type of non slip material? Also, the two small brackets go at the very bottom connecting headboard base with the wing piece to keep headboard from rocking - right? Should we have to drill a hole? Thanks "

    • A:

Antoine, My husband and I just set up this bed in our new home with hardwood flooring and we have not had any issues with the bed shifting. My husband was concerned at first so we considered an area rug but after realizing there was no need, we just have the bed sitting on the floor.

    • A:

Hi, I'm not sure exactly what you mean with the bracket (or I just don't recall that part of the assembly), but I can tell you that I put this together with my 9 year old daughter. It was pretty easy and didn't require any hole drilling.

  • Q:

"Can you use this headboard with a queen temperpedic mattress with ergo adjustable base?"

  • Q:

"Does this need a boxspring and king bed frame?"

    • A:

Yes, you need a box spring for this bed.

    • A:

We have a boxspring and I think it's too high. You probably don't need one. I am going to try without and worst case I have to get a low profile boxspring.

  • Q:

"Hello, I noticed that there are only 3 slats for the entire bed. Apparently that is not strong enough, especially for a king size bed. Is it possible to purchase additional matching slats from overstock?"

    • A:

Hi, You have to either buy a platform that you can place under the mattress and not use what was supplied or re-enforce the slats by adding more and creating feet like I did,

  • Q:

"Is it adjustable for California King?"

    • A:

This bedframe is not designed to fit a California King mattress.

  • Q:

"Hi, I was reading through other questions and think I have my answer. But just to make sure. I plan on slatting the bed myself so i could use it as a platform vs getting a box spring. The mattress I'm interested in is 10" - If i have the mattress only, would a gap show between the mattress and the headboard?"

    • A:

The gap between the headboard and the base is 14 inches.

  • Q:

"I have a temperpedic adjustable base. Does this bed hold that type of base instead of a box spring?"

    • A:

Hi, the base is a basic open square, it comes with slats that fit in the square to place the box spring on. I found the bed too high with the slats in it, so I just put the box spring on the floor inside the base and the mattress on top. So you should be able to do the same with your temperpedic adjustable base. Hope that helps its a bit hard to explain. Best of luck

  • Q:

"the first photo shows a darker gray, while the following photos show it to be lighter. Which is it?"

    • A:

I would say it is medium, but on the darker side.

  • Q:

"Description says "platform" bed. Is this an error? Pictures shows a box spring. If a box spring is needed and a 12 inch mattress is purchased, what size height of a box spring is needed to cover the gap?"

    • A:

This is not a platform bed. We apologize for the confusion we might have caused. The box spring bed Details are: Hardwood and plywood frame. Grey fabric upholstery. Espresso legs. Nail-head trim, button tufts. Box spring required.

  • Q:

"Is this bed gray or brownish? Photos with the "espresso" name are sending me in both directions??"

    • A:

      This bed is grey

  • Q:

"Does this bed meet the California guidelines for furniture. Does it have an odor??"

    • A:

No, this bed does not have an odor and should meet those guidelines.

  • Q:

"The description says queen, but it comes up under king search ....then under the description it says king...but no pricing. Can this be purchased as a king? and if so, at whst price? thank you "

    • A:

Looking in the drop down menu for buying options you'll find the king size listed there with a price.

  • Q:

"Hi, can i know how big ( in inches) is the gap on the head baord? Will the mattress of 12 inch thick cover the gap in the head board."

    • A:

The gap is 14 inches . We have a 14 inch mattress thst fits perfect.

  • Q:

"Does this bed come with a mattress"

    • A:

      No mattress

  • Q:

"Hi I was wanting to buy this bed in a queen will it be back in stock?"

    • A:

  • Q:

"Hi I want to buy the queen size bed frame and from reviews it looks like I need to use my own box spring, I saw one review saying they needed to use a low profile boxspring but other reviews don't specify-the person who used a low profile box spring said they needed it because the mattress was longer than the bed? I'm just wondering what sort of box spring I need. The only difference between a regular and a low profile is 4 inches or so. Also wondering if I put a box spring and a mattress if the headboard will then be covered? How much headboard inches will still show? Thanks! "

    • A:

I used my regular box spring ,the setup was too high and covered too much of the headboard .I removed the box spring and put the mattress directly on the platform frame and it is now too soft and low ,but it is better than the full box spring ? I am now thinking about a low profile box spring

    • A:

I bought this bed frame to use with a Sleep number adjustable bed. The queen size mattress fit just fine, so not sure why anyone thought it was too long for the frame. The problem I encountered was when I raised the head of the bed. It was only a few inches off, since the bed slides forward to raise the head. Since the headboard is cloth, it did not slide well. I simply did not attach the padded sides of the bed to the head board to give me the few extra inches that I needed. I had to prop the ends by the headboard up to be equal to the rise (from the floor) of the foot board. Works fine. As to being too high, the Sleep number bead is lower to the floor by maybe 6", so I have a bit of wall showing under the headboard, which is hidden anyway by the pillows when I fix the bad. Unless I misunderstood the question, the Queen mattress with box spring should look perfect. A low profile spring would lower the mattress only a few inches - so would look fine as well.

    • A:

you need the low profile box spring hun. theres one that's 4 inches and perfect, it will look like the photo. the higher low profile will work too just don;t get regular size you'll need a ladder to get on the bed

    • A:

I bought this bed but cancelled the order because I changed my mind about the color. I bought a very similar bed in a teal blue and bought a fold-able low profile box spring which was exactly the right height. The mattress comes up just to the bottom of the headboard and when you put bedding on it, it looks just right. Paula W.
