Cushions are NOT water proof The cushions that come with the set are not waterproof or even water resistant. The photo is misleading because it shows the furniture being used outside. These cushions soaked up the rain like a sponge. It's been 2 weeks since they were rained on and still soaking wet. DISAPPOINTED!

I ordered the grey version of the chairs. So my chairs are a dark grey "wicker" style frame with very light grey colored cushions. I don't have cream colored cushions. And the two grey colors go together well. I used the chairs with a very crisp white futon on my lanai.

The chair cushion is actually 27" from front to back; 23.5" wide, from side to side and 4" deep.

I measured them too, and got numbers close to Virginia's. I measured 23.5" wide, 28" deep, and 4.5" thick. I think the 17 number might come from the height from the ground to the top of the seat cushon, which I measured to be 17.5".
