"Is the binding on the corners thick enough so the rug won't curl up on the edges? If I purchased this rug, it would be in an entryway and I would not want anyone stumbling."

The rug is in my entry way and does not curl at the edges.

Yes the rug lies flat at the entry way and as a runner. I purchased several sizes including 2 entryway rugs and am very pleased with them all. The quality is excellent and the colors are great. I did put a pad under the main entry rug and am pleased with that as well.

"Anyone has brown rug? Is it really brown or more of a grey? I am specifically concerned about sides/trim, is that also brown or on a grey side?"

I have the brown version in my entryway. The rug is mainly brown with small amounts of beiges and lighter browns throughout the pattern. On my 3 x 5 rug the border is approximately 1 inch of solid brown like the background. I saw there was a grey version of this rug when I purchased mine, however, if you order the brown color it is definitely brown and not grey.
