overall the dual arm mount is great - looks great, mounted easily and the center column and arms are nice and sturdy. but the deck for the laptop and the mounting plate for the monitor are both plastic. while they are high quality, the laptop and monitor both wiggle around pretty good when touched. That said, my laptop is pretty good sized (though 15.4 inch seems pretty average to me), so maybe i'm over-taxing it. also, the laptop deck is pretty small - i suppose it's meant for a 13 inch or so laptop, as my 15.4 inch hangs off a good deal - but it still does the job. and since i'm using and external keyboard, the wiggle isn't much of a problem.
if i had my way, the laptop deck and monitor mounting plate would be made out of cast or welded aluminum (though i'm sure this would increase cost). Also, i'm using this as part of a sit/stand workstation, so it would be awesome if there was some option to add-on a device to raise and lower the monitor easily - or even automatically! like at the touch of a button. as it is now, the weight of the monitor causes the arm to bind in the pole, so i have to lift the full weight of the monitor with one hand and slide the arm up with the other. not really the worst thing, but could be alot smoother. perhaps a spring or a gas piston would help. hmm, maybe i'll rig something up myself...
