Vewry nice - color description
The rug came within a week and was very well shipped. (This one was delivered by Fedex.) There were two heavy plastic sleeves the rug sat in and there was no damage or dirt on the rug.
I worried about the smell as many people have complained and I'm pretty sensitive to smells giving me a headache. Upon unrolling it we noticed a slight latex smell in the back and no strong smell coming from the wool.
Since colors are hard to gauge I will describe them the best I can. I was hoping to be able to upload pictures but I don't see a way to do that. The whole rug has a "dusty" low key look to it. Someone described it as tea wash but the colors are stronger than that. I'll go from the inside out. The smaller inside medallion is dark brown rather than rust. The lighter color around the center brown is tan with green, brown, gray, and a small amount of orangely gold accents with black outlines to make them stand out. That is then surrounded with the larger rust diamond shape. That is a true rust not red, wine, or burgandy. The accents are green, tan, gray and some orangey gold with some black outlines within the field of rust. The diagonal sections that surround the rust is more of a medium dusty gold or yellow. It has accents of green, brown, and gray with some black outlines. The corners above the diagonals have medium dusty green with a brown swirl, then gray, then tan, then a medium brown in the corner. Everything is then surrounded with a medium dusty green border, about 2 inches wide, with tan and brown accents. The next outer border is about 8 inches wide and the base is a slightly lighter dusty gold or yellow than the diagonals below it. It has accents of medium green, some brown and a little gray, and outlines in black and rust. Outside of that is a green 2 inch border matching the previous 2 inch border of medium green with tan and brown accents. Finally the entire thing is bordered in a rust colored two inch border. Whew who knew there were so many colors?
Still to give you an overview color picture the rust stands out predominantly. The yellows are intermixed with the green accents as predominant colors. So the biggest impression is the rust center with a dusty yellow/green or green/yellow surround with interesting patterns.
I only vacuumed once so far. I did it as someone suggested without a beater bar which will pull up wool from the backing. Only a small amount of wool came up. I was happy about that after all the warnings about shedding. We'll see if it changes after the fibers relax more.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this rug. It's about 1/2 thick. I wanted a more muted rug and this turned out to be a great fit.
