Inspired by the dramatic California coast, the Big Sur Collection has an elegant grey wash finish over a distinctive sheesham wood grain. With its handcrafted sleek lines and sinuous curved back, the Big Sur chair is a perfect accent to our Big Sur table.Sheesham, also known as Indian Rosewood, is a sustainably harvested wood grown on government plantations in India. This beautiful exotic hardwood features a distinctive grain and color which means every piece is one-of-kind. All our sheesham wood furniture is handmade by artisans using old world techniques, using legally sourced wood.

We travel the world searching for unique, soulful pieces that tell a story. This one-of-a-kind piece was handcrafted in the desert of Rajasthan by Indian artisans. Painstakingly made by hand, our craftspeople are carrying on age old traditions passed down from generation to generation. Thumbs up! The two chairs that I bought fit very well in my open concept living/dining/work space. They are modern and rustic, which seems like a contradiction until you see them. The gray wash is more subtle on my chairs than in the online photo. For me, that's not a problem. They also pass the "tush test:" comfortable with no need for a seat cushion. Thumbs up.

Beautiful, solid and unique! Each chair is slightly different in the pattern of the gray wash, which makes them like a piece of art in our dining room. Seat is wide, and comfortable, chair is solid. One chair (out of four) did arrive damaged. But Great Offer Stock customer service was great, quick to assist and send another chair out immediately. I suggest you request extra packing material and numerous fragile stickers upon ordering. I ordered the matching table as well which arrived damaged, but again Great Offer Stock great to replace it promptly with no hassle.
