Story Behind the Art:
Amporn learned wood carving from master artisans at the age of 19. 'Many people think that men are better than women at woodcarving, but in my area women do excellent work. More than 70-percent of the people working with me are women. As a northern Thai woman, I am so proud that I can have my own career and also generate work for more than 20 local families. I'm proud of my work and always strive to create only the best. I hope you will love it,' she says.

Beautifull Sculpture
This elephant has been very skillfully carved ! The detail is just incredible, even down to the "ivorywood" tusk which appear to be the real thing. It is just lovely !!

Nice product
While in Thailand I regretfully did not buy a wooden elephant. I was pleased to find this one. You should note that it is very large and the wood, is not a dark brown but rather a reddish brown.

i bought this piece to give to my doctor for good luck for christmas. it was a nice size and should look very nicely on his shelf at his office or at home. i am glad that this item was available in this company since the workmanship was excellent and the wood was heavy. good gift or for your collection.
