Story Behind the Art:
The town of Heriz is known as one of the most significant historical places in the Azerbaijan province. This particular rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village, where weavers re-create the original Heriz design. These rugs are made by Mahmood Alam and his family. They are hand-knotted in their own homes, and everyone in the family helps out in the process of rug making, from his wife, Shakiba, to the youngest daughter. They process the wool, themselves in their home, prior to making the rugs. All washing, spinning and dyeing of the wool are done in their home.
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen.
Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces.

amazing rug, surpassed all expectations
This rug is just fantastic. I'd never ordered a rug of this type online and was a bit worried. But after it was unfurled, I was blown away by the quality. The colors are more lush and muted than in the picture - not too bright, which would be cartoonish. The detail is even more remarkable in person - lots of things you cannot even see in the zoom-in on the photo. It's a very rich-looking rug and totally makes the room. Practically speaking - It is soft to the touch and wonderful to walk on. And because it is a hand-knotted rug, there is zero shed, which is another plus. If you buy this rug, you will not be disappointed.

Bait and Switch
Second rug I ordered from Great Offer Stock and am extremely disappointed. The rugs look nothing like those shown on the website. The website images are color enhanced, the rugs when delivered have completely washed out colors, blue is dull black, red is the an ugly shade of maroon. The rugs are quite expensive and cost a great deal to ship back to Great Offer Stock. I have ordered other items (not rugs) from Great Offer Stock and have been satisfied in the past. I would strongly advise against ordering any rug from Great Offer Stock as the item you see on their website in no way represents what they send you. Great Offer Stock should be reported to the better business bureau for running this costly bait and switch scam

Color not as depicted
While the rug itself seems to be of good quality, the colors are not at all close to what was depicted. I had noted a similar review, but thought that perhaps there had been a one-time mistake, and the other reviews were positive. Unfortunately, I should have listened to the one negative review that warned of the misrepresented colors. The rug is listed as "Red/Navy" and the colors in the photo are vibrant. The rug I received is dark rusty red/brown and navy that is almost black. It is a very drab, dark brown-black tone rug. I am attempting to send it back, but have been referred out to a special large purchase division that was not open the day I called. I will have to wait 2-3 business days to find out how the return will be handled. Very disappointing, little bit of a headache.
