She had already been making jewelry for herself. But now with more time on her hands due to a layoff, the wife and mother decided to take a chance that there were a lot of other women who wanted unique, well-made jewelry that didn't cost a mint. Her gamble paid off. Working out of a modern workspace in Florida, Leilani is now able to employ several family members, plus a network of contractors in Venezuela, Peru, and China as need demands. While strong color is the basis of everything they create, the design process itself is...unusual. Usually they throw jewelry parts on a table and just let inspiration take over. Leilani usually gravitates to working with glass and crystal, but will also use rhinestone, lapis, turquoise, and other stones, as long as the quality is there. Leilani told us that she loves having her own company and the beautiful pieces they produce, but the best part is that it lets her enjoy the three "Fs": freedom, flexibility and family.
