These weights can be used on your wrist or ankles. I choose my wrist because of my arthritis and rotator cuff problems. I usually wear these weight during my aerobics classes for a controlled therapeutic session that not only helps build, strengthens and helps joint mobility. It appears to relieve the daily aches and pain if worn regimently. It definitely depends on the level of your ailment but if your able to or want to improve mobility in your upper body areas. These weights will have a therapeutic affect.
I actually purchased these to use on my wrists while walking. However, they don't tighten up enough to use them around my wrists. So, if you have small wrists they aren't good to wear. I could use them, but they would be sliding around on my wrists as I walked. However, I can't stand things moving around on my arms or legs. So, they didn't quite work for what I used them for. My sons use them as ankle weights though and they work fine that way.
