Animal Planet Swirl Top Memory Foam & Orthopedic Pet Bed

This is my dog's 1st "Big Boy Bed", he's slept in a crate since we brought him home as a puppy, he's just over a year old now; a little early to be out of the crate but he kinda made the decision himself, started sleeping on the couch, not wanting to go with us when we went to bed, but then coming in later because he wanted to b with us; (he does not sleep in the bed with us) so he needed his own bed. He's a Vizsla, for those who don't know the breed, he's a slender very short haired hunting hound, about 52 lbs. We have hard wood & tile in our house so his only soft areas to sleep where the area rugs & with his very slender hips and so little coat, he gets cold very easy & isn't comfortable for long periods like during the night without some cushion. I found out by trial & error that he wanted to sleep on soft warm fluffy covers, again I believe it's more comfortable for him, like a small greyhound; they don't have much natural cushion. When I started my search, I had so much advice from fellow Vizsla owners; I probably looked at 500 beds! Bought & returned 5!!! I was seriously considering some of the more expensive beds, but I just couldn't bring myself to spend $200 on a dog bed! Great Offer Stock was one of my last websites to check unfortunately,. I looked through at least 50 beds on Great Offer Stock before I found this one, thought WOW! This is perfect!! Soft furry top, rectangular size (for his long legs to stretch out) & partial memory foam for comfort! IT IS GREAT! PERFECT!! At least for my dog!! It is well made, the cover is easy to remove and wash, the zipper is hidden, it is not metal but so far, fine. The foam is soft and comfortable, he can nest if he likes, or stretch out his long legs! I'm very happy with this purchase. And believe it or not it was the least expensive of any of my choices!! Even if it only lasts 6-8 months, which I'm sure it'll last longer; it will be no problem to buy another. This is a great bed, especially if you have an older dog with tender joints or a breed like mine that needs a soft comfy surface to sleep on, it's plenty big enough for him, but he's a medium size dog. Our son's 95 lb Weimaraner manages to squeeze on it when visiting. I'd think it'd b good for a dog up to the size of 60-65 lb lab or retriever. The top is like a very short nap fake fur, for dogs that shed a great deal that may or may not b a problem. For our dog, it's comforting due to his very short hair. This is a great bed!! It's not a super heavy duty type canvas made for dogs that chew and tear their beds up, but if that isn't a concern; I believe you will find this a great value for a small to medium size dog, it being a rectangular shape would make it good for a long torso type dog too. FYI: If u need to add additional foam to your dog bed for any reason, there is a website that sells wholesale foam of all types cut to order, pick shape, put in dimensions, pick type & thickness, and wah lah, very very reasonable. I needed to add about another 1/2 inch to the bed & found in online, super idea for those that want to add additional foam to anything, or just your dog's bed.

This is not my idea of memory foam... this is small pieces...probably left over in a factory. WHAT's the POINT in using memory foam in this form? It is a total marketing deception. Would you buy a memory foam bed for yourself with little chunks instead of a smooth mattress; my dog hates it. I waited a week hoping that the chunks would fluff out and possibly work like memory foam is meant to work. They claim it is "best in memory foam technology"... what a bunch of bull. This manufacture should be ashamed of themselves for deceiving the public... in NO WAY does it replicate the memory foam we humans sleep on...it is a terrible deception. I have an 85 pound shepherd and she can only fit on it half-way... it is meant for a 40 lb dog. Must be a puppy shown sleeping on it... total deception.

This bed was on sale, and I was looking for a memory foam dog bed, so I purchased without reading the reviews. While some were happy with the bed, and I'll agree for the price it's a decent pet bed, UNLESS you were specifically shopping for a memory foam bed. This is tiny chunks of foam (memory or not- it's hard to say), chopped up bean bag style. I wanted memory foam so it would hold it's shape without looking like I threw a sloppy pillow on the floor, and for the heft and thickness of the memory foam. I was hoping that the weight of it would prevent the dog from picking it up and throwing it around like a pillow, which is what he did with his last bed. So far he's happy enough, and I think it'll work, but it wasn't what I thought it was, and had I shopped the discount stores I could have found what I wanted at a similar price. Color is accurate, as is size. However, calling this a memory foam bed is simply misleading!

It is described as a memory foam, which to me is a one piece, not a bunch of foam bunched up, that you have to break up. How is that suppose to be comfortable? Very disappointed and having a hard time contacting customer service about it. Not worth the money!

It looks nothing like the photo it's in reality a giant lumpy mess. I already have a duplicate of this bed bought in a petstore we have had for 2 years that my dogs both love, and take turns using so I found this one online and was happy to find it, however when received it was nothing alike. On my fault I ordered the wrong size but the quality is immensely different. The outer shell is the same, but it's missing about 1/2 the foam it should have! So it's not even memory foam feeling, you can just feel the floor. I showed a picture also both beds with a 5 lb weight on top, both of my dogs are 35 lbs, so you can see how much it sinks in vs the store bought one (the more loved smaller bed of the two) the one from Great Offer Stock still has the tag on.
