The unit is nice however the packing screw on the paddle shaft isn't stainless so it rust, had to chase the threads to assemble!

Outstanding quality. The only issue are the instructions. They are extremely vague, it took me a while to figure out how to remove the mixing arm.

Over all I am happy with the equipment, it works as it should and is pretty sturdy. As a machinist though there are a few things that could be better made, the biggest is the brass bushings that hold the mixing blade and attaches the handle. While they work the fit and finish are lacking, and I will be making a better set in the future. If care isn't used during reassembly it can allow binding of the mixing blades when you rotate it in reverse to get an even mix. This is because the blade will thrust axially due to the helical design, any looseness in the bushings will allow movement and contact with the internal "wings". A little inconvienent, yes, but a little care easily over comes the problem. It beats trying to hand mix ice cold meat when making sausages!

This is a very good quality mixer for the price. You can buy more expensive, but I don't think they are any better. Mixes deer salami in just a few minutes and the seasonings are well blended through the meat. Also very good if you want to mix your own sausage from bulk.

The mixer I received had a manufacturing flaw in the main mixer shaft, in that the threads that hold the turning handle on where defective. I received a replacement mixing shaft promply after contacting Weston's customer service. They are extremely courteous and helpful. These mixers all appear to be made in the same factory in China, no matter whose brand you buy. The finish is a little crude, but the mixer works extremely well, at least mine does for 10 lbs or more. You just have to remember to turn it backwards a few turns every so many revolutions. My hands are getting old, and some of my fingers have bit of arthritis, so this simple machine saves your hands from the ice cold meat. It definitely helps to have the correct amount of water in the meat mixture. It is a bit awkward to remove the mixer shaft, and the meat after mixing. It also is a bit awkward to clean, simply because it is a little bulky (you need a big sink). I'm not sure I would use this for a batch less than 10 lbs because of the bulk and required cleaning

I shopped around for the best price on a manual mixer and once again Great Offer Stock had the best price. This mixer is perfect for mixing the small batches of sausage that I like to make. I do recommend.

This item is exactly as described in the advertisment and is just what I was looking for. It is a great aid to mixing ground meat which I used to mix by hand. The ingrediants mix easily and it takes 1/4 of the time it used to take by hand.It is a simple enough matter to clean and can be stored in the minimum of space. I use it for mixing ingredients for boerewors sausages.Thank you
