The roman shades were very good quality. The color was what I expected from pictures online. Easy installation. I have bought similar shades for 5 times more. I plan to line them with cotton fabric for more privacy (I did this for my other shades as well).

I love these blinds. They fit perfectly, and they look gorgeous. My boyfriend put them up for me. He's pretty handy with tools, but he says you don't have to be to install them. He used a cordless drill and had them completely up and done in about 20 minutes. They're a little more see-through than I expected. That's no problem for the window to the backyard, but it doesn't block out people's view from the front window. That's nothing a simple privacy liner can't fix.

These blinds look good. The individual slats are thinner than the picture indicates,(almost matchstick). You can see right through them when down, so they will filter, but not block all light. I thought that would be a negative, but I find now that I actually prefer it. I can see my garden through the closed blinds, and it creates a nice effect. The blinds went up easily, and I was relieved to find that there was a cord stop. It is not of high quality, but I will not have to rely on the cleats to keep the blinds up as I have in previously purchased roman blinds. People can probably see into my house at night, so that is a negative. The color matched the picture, and I am pleased overall.

I purchased 4 sets of these blinds for our family room to help block the sun. They were easy to install, and look great! They do a good job keeping the sun out, but you can see somewhat through the blinds. This is just what we had in mind. The blinds came quickly. I had to return one because I ordered too many! So, I got to experience a "return" - which was easy.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"I see all the shade lengths are 70 something inches - does this work for a window that is only 45” in height? Thanks!"

    • Q:

"What is the minimum depth requirement for an inside mount?"

      • A:

An inside mount requires 1/2" of depth. 2" of depth is required for a flush mount.

    • Q:

"I have windows that are 19, 31 and 35 inches wide. You do not offer any half inch difference to have an inside mount. Will 18, 30, and 34 be too small? Thanks"

      • A:

That will work, but leaves you large light gaps on the sides of the shades. Normally we say only size down by 1/4" to 1/2" of space.

    • Q:

"Would people be able to see into our Florida room at night when the shades are down?"

      • A:

Yes. I have these in my living room and with lights on in evening you can see very clearly through them from the road. They provide decent privacy during the day, but if you want full privacy in evening, I'd recommend hanging curtains over them and closing those in evenings.

      • A:

Exactly what Mistella said... this is see through, but I like it because it lets the sun light in during the day. I have this throughout downstairs and absolutely love them! I have other kinds but similar to this in my master bedroom. For that room, I have semi blackout curtains on top of the blinds

    • Q:

"My window width is 70.5" and height is 36". Do you think a 70"X 74" is too big for the height of my window? Thanks!"

      • A:

I think it'll be okay. The bottom will be scrunched up but that, in my opinion, will look fine.

    • Q:

"My window is 54 1/8 in wide—is the 54 in the best size choice for an inside mount?"

      • A:

We recommend sizing down about 0.25 to 0.5 inches in the width. Taking off only 0.12 inches may not be enough.

    • Q:

"Can this be mounted on the each side of wall instead of on the top or towards window side wall? I already have a blind mounted and I want to mount this on the walls on each side of window."

      • A:

It would be up to you, hardware is not flat.

    • Q:

      "Can these top mounted?"

      • A:

I have mouted mine on the top.

    • Q:

"I want this blind with inside mount my window from inside to inside is 65". Do u think I will be fine ordering the 64"?"

      • A:

The widest I have ordered is 37" across and they work fine. I don't know about 65". I would think they would reenforce it, due to its length across? The pull slide on mine are smooth.

      • A:

        Absolutely.

      • A:

No!! It will not be wide enough and will look weird.

      • A:

It should be. If it's centered it would leave 1/2" on either side so I would suggest measuring it that way and see if it looks alright. If there's trim around window, it might hide the 1/2" gap on each side.

      • A:

There will be too much space in my opinion. My window is 71 inches and I bought the 70.5 inch shades and they fit snug and perfect for inside mount. I felt the 70 inch ones would have had too much of a gap on each side when I measured.

      • A:

You must allow for the hardware when mounting inside- 1/4 to 1/2" on each end for clearance!

    • Q:

"Is the first dimension the width or the length? I have a bedroom window that is 72" wide by 36" high. "

      • A:

The shade is 74 inches long.

      • A:

It's 72 inches in length and 26 inches in width

      • A:

Width is the correct answer. Width x length.

      • A:

It is what you order. Width is correct.

    • Q:

"If the inside of my window is measuring 21.5 inches would I purchase the 21 inch shade?"

      • A:

I would suggest extra length to cover the window, but it's a matter of preference. The blind we received is well-made and a great price, it looks great and I think you'll be happy. We bought ours to cover a porch door with a full-length window.

      • A:

Yes, the 21 inch shade would work best.

      • A:

I would get the 21 inch. That would put 1/4 inch on each side. You could put outside and put where you want. I put mine inside and they look great. I love them.

    • Q:

"Can the width be shortened? My windows are 53 1/2 inches. Also is this a good color for oak trim? "

      • A:

Shortening the width by a 1/4" or so worked for is, but anymore would be difficult as the header at the top is solid wood and the shades are heavily glued to it. The color would be fine for oak trim. They really are gorgeous, we have them in our kitchen.

      • A:

They should work well with oak trim. I don't know about trimming them width-wise. There is about an inch on each side beyond the stitching that holds the bamboo together. There is also a wood strip at the top to which the shade and valance are attached. Maybe doable if you are handy.

    • Q:

"are these both inside and outside mount?"

      • A:

I believe they could be. I have not done this as I used them on two half French doors. There probably would be a small gap between wall and blind as the blinds are not that heavy!

      • A:

        Can be mounted either way.

"How much depth in the window casing do you need for an inside mount?"

1.5" is all that is required.

Yes they can be lets light through

    • Q:

"Can these be shortened? Seems to be conflicting info in the Q&A's? My window is 53 1/4 x 28 1/2, yes that is WxH ! :)"

      • A:

Yes, you can shorten them yourself, I have on a few.

    • Q:

"Are blind measurements (especially widths) exact, or are they 1/2" shorter (as many blinds are) to provide clearance for inside mounts? Can these be shortened?"

      • A:

widths are accurate they can be shortened

      • A:

Just re-measured my 74" blind, and it is exactly 74" wide. The main reason I bought this blind is that it is a full 74". Most others relatively inexpensive bamboo blinds are available in a maximum length of 72". The mounting hardware is adjustable. The end mounts ride in a slot that looks to be 4-5" long. You could easily cut off part of that slot to narrow the width of the blind. I've changed the width a bamboo blind before, it isn't easy. Bamboo is difficult to cut smoothly. Also, keep in mind that not only do you have to accommodate the mounting hardware when changing the width of a blind, but also the threads/cords that run thru the slats joining them together & keeping them aligned. So adjustment is not infinitely variable; you have to cut in between the threads, and far enough away from them to keep them from popping off the new ends of the slats. If you are only talking about shorting the length - how far down the blind goes when it is unrolled - there is a bamboo pole at the bottom of the blind that you would have to remove & re-attach. Again, you are dealing with all of those threads that run the length of the blind, holding slats together. I have these things on 3 windows & one storage area in our home. Changing the width was a huge chore. On the one window where the blind was too long, I just don't unroll it all the way, rather than attempt to change the length. All the best with your window decorating.

      • A:

I don't consider myself the best at measurements but I allowed about an half inch clearance for the hardware and they were a perfect fit. These blinds are very beautiful but I am unsure if they can be shortened. That may be a question for the manufacturer?

      • A:

I would order shorter than what you actually need. I ended up having to return and get the next size down for inside mount. I do not know if you can shorten the length yourself. I did not need to.

    • Q:

"I didn't get the hardware with these blinds when they were sent. How do I get the hardware? I tried Home Depot but they don't sell what I would need to hang these."

      • A:

I suggest contacting Great Offer Stock to let them know. You should be able to return them at no cost or they may be able to send you the hardware. We have two of these binds and love them. Both came with all the hardware.

      • A:

I would suggest that you contact the company that made the blinds directly, the information should be in the packaging / instructions that came with the blinds. You could also just use screws to attach the blinds to the window frame by going between the valance and the blind to attach to the frame so that the mounting does not show.

"We are looking for Tuscan Bamboo shades for our patio, the window measurement is 44 by 84 or we can accept 42 by 84 also. We would need 4 of them. Please let us know if you have them. Thank you, Maria"

    • Q:

"Are these blinds able to be shortened? I need a 64 inch drop. Thank you."

      • A:

I do not believe so - just looked at mine. However they also look nice folded up from the bottom. I do that on my French door when I want some extra light but also maintain some privacy!

      • A:

I needed a shorter length, too, but with an inside mount, the extra just rests on the sill and rolls back toward the glass.

      • A:

I would not shorten, I think they would come apart...they do roll up...you could just keep them rolled up at the bottom...thease are nice quality,....remaind you of old porch...rollups

      • A:

        I just checked mine and I would'nt.

It would aslo match the other blinds I bought from Great Offer Stock that are the same. Look forward to your reply. Thanks."

      • A:

Yes, I have them on two doors and the rest on my windows. My window blinds are mounted inside while my door blinds are mounted on the upper door panel just above the glass. They look just fine together. The brackets let you mount them either way.

Yes, I did without any problems ,
