Better than the picture!
I read about 100 reviews on different rugs before ordering this one. Everyone seems to review a natural fiber rug lower because of its imperfections. This is the character of a HAND WOVEN natural fiber rug-- The ends sides might not be completely even, the ends may curl a little bit, the weave may be inconsistent, etc. With that said, this rug is beautiful! The ends curl just a little bit, but it has only been unrolled for a few hours. I am going to put a few books on the ends and curl them under to reverse it, but it's not that big of deal. I put this in my kitchen as a runner and it's thicker than I thought which is a bonus! I'd say the rug is about 1-1.5 inches thick, so beware if you are using it in front of a door. I haven't experienced any shedding yet, but I expect to see some over time since this is the nature of a natural fiber rug. This is my 3rd Safavieh jute rug throughout my house and I'm amazed at that quality and durability. You will need a rug pad to prevent shifting. I am buying another one exactly like this for my entry hallway. I love how it adds a touch of character while staying within a neutral palette. The only thing on my wish list is that I wish this rug came in a 10' length.

The Safavieh handmade natural Fiber Svana is a heavy duty rug. I have it place at the entry of our cabin. It really goes well. The only issue I have is it curls on the ends and being such high quality fiber hard to straighten out.

This rug is awesome! I got it in the black and it makes my room look huge. It definitely needs a rug pad to hold it still. Shipping was very fast and I was happy with the price

Purchased this rug for a modern coastal boho design for a dining room in the black color combo. It has a perfect subtle design. As with any jute rug it has a rougher texture but this was not a problem for a dining area.

Nice rug... Just not meant for outdoors. Guess I should have known better.

-
-
Q:
"I am curious how flat the rug lays. I have purchased two runner rugs for my hallway and both have puckered in several areas making them look poor quality but also creating a safety concern for me walking on them. I have not kept either (donated) and am hesitant to try again."
-
A:
Due to shipping restrictions this is how some of our larger rugs/runners must be shipped. Perhaps trying to reverse/back roll the rug to remove these creases.
-
-
Q:
"What is the actual color of this rug? It appears brown and tan but the description says "grey". I would like to hear from someone who has actually seen the rug. Thanks!"
-
A:
I have it and it is a dark grey, not brown at all. The other color is just the natural fiber, not tan.
