Missing Washers Cushions smell like mildew I like the chairs very much. Very easy to put together. However, the delivery of the second 2 I bought was missing the 6 washers you need in order to assemble the chairs. Probably just going to swing by home depot opposed to dealing with customer service. Every piece came wrapped in plastic but the cushions were sealed. When I opened them they smelled like mildew.... gross. I am just going to air them out. Maybe manufacturer should add some silica gel packets in cushion packing.

nice looking but not as comfy as many reviews These chairs do take some time to put together, but I guess that was expected. They are nice looking. Lighter and grayer than walnut. (we got the chestnut finish) , but complementary. They are true mid century styled, as shown. The main surprise is that so many reviews stated that the chairs are really comfy. I just don't find them to be. The padding is thin so i dont think these can be considered "stay and chat for hours" chairs. They also (thankfully) have adjustable feet, but the plastic feet are a little rough and one scratched our hardwood floors. We sanded the burrs out and its ok now, but just make sure to check. But, we are happy with their low backs ( a very clean look in our small dining room) and styling, so I suppose we will live with them. I would recommend these chairs, but I don't expect them to be around forever. For the price, they are just great.

Great Price, Kid-friendly, Good Design I ordered 6 chairs for a very expensive table from Room and Board. I had to compromise somewhere with the budget! However, these look great. They are low profile and have the same kind of simple design you see in the catalogs. I also have 3 very small children so the wipe-able seats allow me to have the design I want without freaking out every time the kids start climbing around the table. Note though that seats seem to come in two finishes - matte and glossy. My delivery had a combination of the two but I called Customer Service and they sent me additional seats so that all were matching by the end of the day. Amazing service. That's why I'm hooked on Overstock! Quite literally.

Excellent find Cons: Slight chemical smell upon opening package. I wiped down the chairs with a damp cloth and that helped. If you don't have an automatic drill, the final four screws will be time consuming. I had no special equipment and two chairs took me an hour to put together. It wasn't the time that bothered me as much as my sore hands. Beware that greasier spills like fish won't come out completely. Spraying water and wiping with paper towel helps to make it nearly noticeable. Pros: They look amazing when done and fit perfectly at a 30 inch high table. They don't go over the table which is exactly what I was looking for. The chairs are comfortable. Maybe not 8 course meal comfortable, but you can sit comfortably for a while. Cushion is the perfect marriage of firm and soft. It's the Goldilocks of cushions. And the cushion is much wider than I pictured so even bigger bottoms can rest comfortably. I'm using one chair for my toddler's booster seat. It fits securely and comfortably.

Looks like it will be nice with solid wood unassembled, but it was missing a piece and after 4 phone calls and 1 shipment of the wrong piece, I have not received the correct piece yet, so I cannot say what it will look like when I assemble it.

I bought these specifically for my desk and the extra one floats around my house for when I need extra seating. I have the Beige Fabric in Chestnut finish and am afraid of stains on the light fabric. Whenever I do use for the dinner table I cover with a dish cloth just in case. Not sure how easily a stain will come out and frankly I don't want to find out. They are beautiful chairs though. On the small scale, my 6'3 brother in law sat in it last night and he looked like a GIANT. He said it was very comfortable though.

Absolutely not. I would call these light duty residential chairs. As my husband and I are now empty nesters, I think they will be fine, but I would have never used them for everyday chairs with a busy family knocking them about. Also, the fabric on the beige chairs is very light in color and flimsy. Will need reupholstered soon.

There is a sticker on the bottom of the chairs that says they are California Prop 65 compliant for formaldehyde. What the sticker says about flame retardants is a little confusing to me. They may not be 100% Prop 65 compliant when it comes to those.

I do not know the answer to that, but the chairs had a very strange chemical smell when I took them out of the box. The smell wore off after a few days. These chairs are not easy to assemble. If you can I would splurge and get nicer chairs.
