My first initial reaction when opening up the boxes for the eLuxurySupply Artisan North American Hardwood Platform Bed was the quality of the material and the ease of set up process. The box was so much heavier than I anticipated, so I knew that this was going to be a high-quality, durable bed. I was astonished at how flawless the setup process was. You don't need any tools at all to set up this bed which I thought it was crazy. The finish was smooth for my liking, and no additional sanding were needed. The platform is very sturdy compare to the other beds that are out there. The best part about it is that it's made here in the US. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a classic wood platform bed. I bought the King size because I have a leesa mattress and it fits very nice. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone who is looking for a nice quality well built platform bed.
This took less than five minutes to assemble and I didn't have to use any tools. Another plus is that you do not need a box spring with this bed frame.
When I ordered this bed it said it would come in "multiple boxes" but it only comes in one! The tracking was awesome and made planning easier. I even was immediately notified when there was a shipping delay to to an unforseen incident. And despite the extra 2 day wait I was AMAZED at how easily it was to put together! (5-10 minutes ) and it looks awesome and I'm very impressed at how solid it is! And it's actually higher than I expected! It fits my personal style perfectly! And my Queen mattress fits perfectly! IF you're skeptical - BUY THIS now! You won't be disappointed!
This is a beautiful and well-made bed. As others have noted, be cautious of the sharp corners! Also please note that the slat size is SIX inches apart, not 3-4 inches as suggested in a response to a customer question. This may make it incompatible with some foam mattresses.

Everyone who sees these bed frames (I ordered two), loves them. They are REALLY easy to put together -- no tools required, although that means that moving the frames once you have them put together can be tricky: lift up on the wrong part and the entire frame and slats comes apart. It's no big deal after the *first* time of having to fix it, but I've had to warn guests not to move the frame without my supervision, so they don't have it fall apart in the late evening. I really really like the look of these frames -- they suit my Scandinavian farmhouse decor perfectly. HOWEVER, at least one of the slats is already broken in half, and I've only been sleeping on the bed (and rarely on *that* side) for about three months. (I received it around April 1, but have been out of town for over 2 months since then.) So now I have to figure out how to replace the slat, which is, of course, right at the butt part ;) I suspected this might be a problem when I installed the slats. And, the weight ain't me or the mattress. Perhaps an ill-placed knee on the mattress did the wrong. But, in any case, now I can't sleep on that side of the bed at all.
I've only had this bed for a few days so I can't speak to durability over time but for now its great. It couldn't be easier to put together, I've assembled lots of furniture in my day and I think every one should use this system. I read a couple of reviews that complained about the "softness" of the wood. In the name of the bed it says it is pine and pine is not a really hard wood. Still SO much better that most of the pressed wood we get in most inexpensive furniture. There was even a personalized handwritten "thank you for buying from us" on the card inside the box and on the outside of the box. Little touches like that make you feel like there are real people out there making these things that care about what they're producing.
I did not believe how easy it was to assemble until I actually put it together myself. Unpacked and put together in under 30 minutes. What a relief! Thank you!!!
This is the second one of these beds I purchased, I liked the first one enough to want another one, although it started squeaking and then came apart after 3 nights in it with my husband. And we are in our 50-s. So this bed is probably better for single people. The hooks came apart, which wasn't too bad, although I am now nervous to make any movement in that bed. Still, I though maybe that was just a fluke, the wood is really nice, so I decided to get another one for the guest room but when it arrived we found out we couldn't put it together the way it's shown as the hardware wasn't matching up. The hooks on one of the boards were attached in the way that they were not reaching the slots - only the top one could barely reach the other side of the hardware, the board kinda curves in the way that the hooks don't reach. We tried everything we could think of, flipped boards around, re-screwed the hardware, etc. - same story. Returning this huge package was not an option, so we had to drill this thing together while force-pulling the boards together - which is not ideal at all. The bed was making sounds as if it was breaking all night every time I turned in it with just me there, but luckily it didn't come apart - so in the morning we ended up putting more screws in it in each corner to keep it together. Now it's solid and doesn't make any more sound. - The bed looks and smells nice, the price is great and the wood is very nice but the design and the making can certainly use some serious improvement.
I was looking for a sturdy, minimalist, platform bed and I found this one! I'm very happy with the quality and it looks perfect in the bedroom! I also LOVE that it's MADE IN THE USA!!! When do you ever see that anymore? Thank you for making such a nice quality bed in the US! I wish more companies were like you. Oh, and by the way, they personally wrote a thank you card to me after the purchase, and also wrote on the interior packaging a personal thank you to me. They seem like a company with a big heart. I highly recommend this platform bed!
Love this bed. It's simple but the wood is awesome quality so it looks expensive. It's the easiest thing to assemble!!! We used zero tools (although a rubber mallet might've been handy). Love it.
Gorgeous. Looks exactly as pictured. Really elegant. Be wary of sharp corners, you can google your leg on it when you walk by. They are super sharp at the edges. Wish they were blunted a bit to avoid that.
The bed frame is a little too long for a standard king, you can see the unfinished slats at the foot of the bed unless you push the bed down and then it causes a gutter between the mattress and the wall at the head of the bed. Also - the mattress does not sit into the bed frame but about a half inch deep. So it sits high in the frame on the slats. We were hoping for our mattress to sink into the bed frame a little so it's not so high. Bed appears much more low profile in photo than it actually is since most mattresses that sit on slats without a bed frame are extremely thick. Regarding greatofferstock.com, I received a "your order has shipped" notice the day AFTER I actually received my bed and got the "Your order has been delivered" notice. I never knew it had been shipped and on it's way, and received it 10 days after ordering it. When the bed frame was received, it was dinged/dented in 3 different places. See photos. Upside of this bed frame, is that it was easy to put together. But would be returning it if it wasn't such as hassle to do so.
I was so happy and surprised when I opened the boxes that contained this frame. It came in two large but manageable boxes. The frame came right out of the package, and get this: there are no tools required to assemble! I know the description said this, but I at least expected to have to deal with some screws or pins. But the time between unboxing the frame and completing the entire assembly literally took 5-10 minutes. The frame slides together, and the platform perfectly sits on top. I did it by myself as well. It sleeps well. It is crazy sturdy and feels super solid. I am a big dude, and I sleep with my girlfriend, and it's clear that this frame will last us a while. It looks stunning too. The wood and stain are beautiful and match our rustic looking house perfectly. There is one reason why I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5 (and it is not a big enough reason to warrant no buying this platform. It's a small problem and we absolutely love it anyways). It is slightly too big. Once we put our California King mattress on it, about 4 inches of the platform was exposed at the foot of the bed. It's not the biggest issue because once we put our sheets and comforter on you couldn't really tell. But we have banged our shins on it quite a few times already. Kind of annoying, but still definitely worth the buy. Overall we are so freaking happy with this buy. For the price and ease of assembly, you can't get better.
Purchased this bed when we got a new king size mattress. The description of the item says no need for a box spring/foundation. I would recommend using one anyway. The slats and where they are jointed are not smooth and could damage your mattress if you're concerned about that. Very strong, does not creak or wiggle when getting in and out. The product shipped within one week of ordering! The item arrived in two separate packages, no tools necessary to put together it literally latched into place and then you have assemble/line up the slats in their groves. So easy our 3 1/2 year old assembled them! Love this bed I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good platform bed, also it is made in America so you can't beat that!
Highly recommend this bed if you are looking for a good value, solid wood and easy to put together. We were ready for an "adult bed" after years of an ikea one and couldn't be happier with this choice.
As far as ease of set up, I don't know how it can be any easier. As far as looks, it's not bad. Can't complain too much for the money. Quality wise, the wood is kind of soft. It gets damaged quite easily, which is my biggest concern. In connection with that, it came with the wood dented in multiple areas, and in one area gouged. Packaging could be better in that regard. Since this is not an item you would really return, I just stained it to match, and sucked it up. Some areas are a little rough. Performance wise, I haven't noticed any creaks. It feels incredibly sturdy. I'd say, for the money, it's closer to 4 stars than it is the 3 I rated it. However, as a standalone, it's probably more like a 3.5 star bed.
