Great value for the money
Solid wood and heavy. Completely assembled and only requires you to attach the 4 legs. Arrive with extra protection on both ends of the box. No damage, to the corners, or any other parts as some others have mentioned. The drawer is very large, (where the legs are stored for shipping),and is almost full depth of the laptop desk.

A surprisingly nice desk. Quality was better than I expected. Very nice finish. Looks "rich". Very stable. Assembly was very simple, just attach each leg with two bolts. I am very pleased with the desk... and I am very particular!

I was pleasantly surprised. The desk is better than I expected. It arrived in perfect condition. Assembly was a snap. Just had to bolt on the legs. The drawer was already together! The hardest part was disposing of the shipping carton.

Great quality!
Received this less than three business days after placing the order. Very impressed with the design, quality and overall look of the desk. It is large without being cumbersome or bulky, rich in color and constructed entirely from real wood. For this quality, the price can't be beat. It is definitely bigger than a "laptop" desk. The table is built for a laptop, with the drawer having a drop down door for a keyboard (if one is needed). A monitor for a regular computer could most likely be used on this desk also. We would not recommend anything much heavier.

This is a very sturdy desk. Unless you want an elephant to stand on it, there's nothing I can imagine that you might want to put on top of it (TVs, hutch, 100's of heavy books) that it wouldn't accommodate.

It's like a regular table - not lightweight at all! I don't know that I'd go crazy putting heavy stuff on it, but a reasonable amount is fine. Very sturdy.

The surface is nice and big, I did a puzzle on it, no problem. The part that is for the laptop slides out, so you should be fine unless it's a giant puzzle.

"Would my dog's kennel, which measures 36" wide x 22.5" deep by 25" tall, fit under the desk? I know the width and depth would work, but would the lowest part of the desk (pull out drawer) provide clearance for a 25" tall kennel? Would I be able to use it as a desk with the laptop drawer fully extended? It seems like the drawer pulls out far enough for me to have the kennel under the desk but still be able to sit/type with the drawer extended. Thanks!"

The height under the desk is exactly 25". If you wanted to use the desk with the crate underneath, you could because the drawer extends out enough to do so. Hopefully, your crate has a door on the side so the dog can get in and out if it wants while you're at the desk. I would suggest if the kennel doesn't fit, put something under the desk legs to raise it a fraction of an inch. This is a really nice desk.

The drawer doesn't close all the way because the track it runs on is too far forward under the desk. It remains open about one inch or so. I don't want to leave a bad review if this is the way it's supposed to be. But if it isn't, then it shouldn't be reviewed positively. I've never seen a desk where the drawer didn't close flush with the front."

I concur with the prior answer. I have my laptop and printer on it with a few other doo dads and I lean on it when typing. It is fine. I am guessing it will handle up to 120 lbs but that is a educated guess.

"Is this desk more red or more brown? Espresso finish implies brown and I do not want mahogany or cherry red but a brown with little red tone will work as long as it is not red with brown tones."

It is a true dark, rich brown; and I didn't notice much of a red undertone. We put our desk in a blue-gray room, so perhaps that changes perception. II suppose if you had it in a room with warmer paints or red accents, it might look more red -- but even then, it is much more brown than red.

You ask the million dollar question! I consider desk to be more brown. Not a dark brown, but brown with rich, red tones. Consider this desk has a coat of 'colored stain' applied to surface. Realize a different production run on a different batch of wood will contain slightly different 'color tones' on final product. I was concerned with functionality of product, the solid wood construction and the ease of assembly, rather than the 'color tone' of surface. This product exceeds my expectations for quality and I was content with the description of the color. The photo of desk on my computer monitor is very true to color I received.

Very easy to put together. I did it by myself but would recommend two people just because it is very heavy. After you attach the legs, you have to flip it over and you don't want to risk breaking the legs.

You only need to put on the legs which is very easy. However, I think an older woman would need someone to help her set it up right as it is pretty heavy.
