I hesitated on the firmness as I am 5'3" and 130lbs, and my husband is 6' and 168lbs and he wanted firm for back support and I like it plush and soft. Our old mattress was 13 years old and had cost us thousands of dollars from Serta. It had done its duty and I decided to buy memory foam for the value and because I had bought 8" and 10" memory foam mattresses for the kids and our guest room before and they all loved them. After reading all the reviews here, and researching, I chose this product because it had a 4lb density, which, from my research, anything above 4lbs density would give you the longevity, the antimicrobial and anti dust mites or bed bugs that it offered. Also, this brand had a ten year manufacturers warranty versus the others did not fully state any warranties on their brand.
Will it hold to 13 years as my old mattress? Time will tell. Another concern, not sure if really an issue, is if you sit on edge, it does slope you down, unlike traditional mattresses that hold the edge up. But we rarely sit at the edge and use our bed for what it is meant for, sleeping.
We plopped it down on our existing Cal King box springs and laid down on it and we were thrilled. We also ordered the Slumber Solutions Highloft Cool 2-inch memory foam topper, just in case I wanted extra plushness. And wow, even my husband was blown away. We can't wait to sleep on it. I will update this in the next few weeks and months. Also, loved the cover. It is a suede bottom with zipper. It seems to have plumped up to almost its 14" in just the one hour so far. Am thrilled. Thank you Great Offer Stock.
I posted a photo of it just newly opened on our bed. Oh, and it had only a very minor odor, nothing major. A hint of odor if you put your nose down to mattress. We are airing it out for now but we likely will sleep on it tonight after 11hours to vent and plump up.
