This is my first spine bookcase, and though the materials and construction quality may not be as good as (and the base footprint is slightly larger than) the more expensive DWR/West Elm/etc. versions, at less than half the price of those versions, it is more than good enough and seems reasonably well-made and sturdy. I chose this version over the shorter 55" gray version (also by Southern Enterprises/Harper Blvd) due to its larger capacity of 65" and wider space between shelves. I would have preferred white, but once covered with books the underlying color is not very visible, and the occasional peek of red is nice. Assembly was very simple. The shelves are angled in and not individually screwed in, which makes addition/removal of shelves easy.
