Heavy weight, great quality for the cost, no visible welds, protective felt cushion on bottom of good quality. Have been looking for a modern brushed nickel table lamp without a fabric shade for months, and this is truly unique. The light it casts due to the "brillo pad" shade is uneven and stripy on the walls. Would be a great romantic bedroom lamp but may be distracting for reading. The bulb included is unfrosted and a bit bright, so I will try a frosted bulb to dull the "stripieness."
