Pretty Disappointing Pretty disappointing. Very small drawers - and shallow so they hold only a few folded T-shirts. Paper-thin flimsy drawer bottoms. Wood is a nice color, and the design is very attractive. Nice solid smooth top. Drawer knobs are so-so quality. Top drawer is velvet-lined and very nice for jewelry, but the other drawers are just so small it's not very useful. Might be better suited for child's clothing. Assembly took a fairly long time because it's in a million pieces - took about 1.5 hours and that was with two people. It is nicely packaged with no damage or nicks in the wood. Bought these to match the Lafayette King Sleigh Bed - the bed is solid, heavy and lovely. These are much more ticky-tacky than the bed, with a good portion being particleboard.

Lafayette challenge This item is marked some assembly is required. This is understatement to the point of being misleading. A significant amount of assembly and fitting is required. Plan on a full day and have helper handy for some of the assembly steps. Fitting the drawers is almost impossible because of all the variables involved. I am pretty handy with tools and have made my own furniture. I suspect the average buyer could not put this together. Proceed with caution.

Don't Buy! Extremely disappointed. First of all, while I was trying to decide, they kept changing the price. Ended up paying way too much $400.00+. Secondly, had to hire someone to put it together. Directions were impossible to follow. Thirdly, notice the piece of wood between the drawers - it is missing. I can see into the drawers when the drawers are closed! Worse purchase I have ever made.

Lafayette Drawer chest Like the night stand, this piece was difficult to assemble, impossible to align the drawers, and appears very cheap. We had to relegate it to the basement.
