All felt pad, nothing on it to get stuck to your hardwoods. The extra thickness is really nice also, and adds a good feel to the rug. It's not spongey, so don't expect a lot of extra cushion, but it definitely changes the feel for me. VERY hard to cut with scissors, but easy to trim with a box cutter (obviously use lots of thick cardboard underneath, or a piece of scrap wood so you don't score your floors). Definitely a fan and will continue ordering this brand just for the fact it's 100% felt.

I needed a rug pad that would not ruin my new hardwood floors. The wood installer told me that the thin, waffle like pads that claim they are safe with hardwood floors will actually leave those marks permanently and he's had jobs where he had to re-sand the hardwood floors because of that. He advised me not to get any pad that 'grips' regardless of what it claims. This product is all felt.
