Great on hardwoods and tile - gets my floors much cleaner than conventional mopping

I purchased this floor cleaner over a year ago, and so I can give a definite five star rating on this product due to the number of times I've used it. Our home has a large area of ceramic tile in the kitchen and extending into a well used sunporch. I was looking for something that would be easier than a bucket and a wet mop. I purchase the Hoover liquid floor soap at Home Depot. I will confess that because of the large area, if I am cleaning the entire tile surface, I have to fill the soap container on the cleaner on average three times. You add a capful of cleaning solution to the machines container of hot water. This number of times would not be necessary on a normal size kitchen floor. The cleaner has rotating brushes that do the cleaning. You can quickly see the dirt coming off the floor as the cleaner vacuums the wet area as it cleans. The cleaner also has a drying selection on the machine once you are finished. There is a short learning curve to using the machine so that you are not wasting your soap reservoir. You apply the solution using the handle button then release and let the brushes continue to rotate so the floor is scrubbed. As I said, I am still using the machine and intend to keep using it as long as our dogs keep tracking in dirt. This was a spur of the moment purchase of a floor cleaner one day when I was fed up with looking at dirty tile. I am so happy that I made the purchase.

It does a pretty good job cleaning but not too good at drying and brissels are not hard enough to remove all stains

This machine leaks like crazy and I hardly see a point to a dry option if it continuously leaks water/solution on the floor. I have checked and re-checked everything according to the manual, but it hasn't helped. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love love love it....cannot even think of not having it....I am disabled and cannot clean my floors without my floormate....it is the most wonderful invention of this era....

I am currently living in hawaii and it is the only thing that will clean my floors. i dont mind mopping but this cleans way better than any mop or machine i have ever owned. if your floors cant seem to "get clean" try this machine!

I am on my fourth ( ? or fifth) Hoover FloorMate SpinScrub. The machines seem to work well for the first few months and then nothing but trouble. The machine usually really falls apart right after the warranty is over. I have always used the recommended cleaner solution and have always washed the entire machine, including the scrubbing brushes and filter after each use. Due to health issues I am no longer able to use the machine myself but my cleaning person wipes the floor with a bath towel when she is done as the machine does not dry the floors decent at all. Also, I can go right behind her and wipe the floor with a damp cloth and the floor is still dirty. Thought it was her, but have watched her and she is operating correctly. With the first machine, I learned the tricks of the machine such as being sure all the tanks click into place or it does not suck at all. Now I need another one and am reluctant to keep spending my money on a relatively expensive product that does not stand up. Would recommend with reservation that it works very well for about one year, if you are lucky.

I opened the box, read the instructions, fill the detergent tank with the included detergent and start cleaning some well soiled wood floors. It worked like a c harm, clean very well, left very little water, and definitely was easier than mopping. Great tool!!

I can't get it to dispense the water. I will have to take it to a repair shop.

I use this unit on a tile floor and it cleans well; the vacuum feature removes the water and cleaning solution from the floor leaving it dry and ready for foot traffic. Quick and easy cleaning.

I love this product i have hard wood floors throughout my house and it does a great job at getting them clean. The only thing i wish it did better is the vacuum, wish it pick up a little better

I bought this to clean my tile floor and hardwood floor. Ive tried steamer mops but they seem to just push the dirt or I really had to scrub the area hard to remove the dirt. With this unit all i do is vacuum the loose dirt, turn the knob to wash and the brushes do all the work. I knew my tile floor was dirty because its a light color, but when i used it on my wooden floor I had no idea the wood held a lot more dirt than the tile. The water was filthy in the recovery tank. The brushes,recovery tank and water reservior all remove easily for clean up

Leaked water and didn't clean well at all. Only thing I have ever had to return to Great Offer Stock.

I have very bad arthritis and this gets the floors squeaky clean without a lot of pain. Easy as cleaning with a lightweight vac. Love that it vacs and drys by turning a knob instead of separate steps. Works well on tile AND hardwood.

I purchased this item a couple of weeks ago, wanted to use it several times before giving my review. Based on others having both positive and negative feedback with the actual cleaning on this item. I can say it is superb with cleaning both tile and wood floors. I haven't actually tried the grout cleaning solution yet but have ordered and waiting for arrival. But using the cleaner solution it came with has exceeded my expectations. Some were complaining about it leaving to much liquid on wood floors, but if you clean a little differently than tile floors it works great, I've cleaned my wood floors with a bump method meaning not using a full trigger pull on wood floors and this puts just enough solution down not to saturate the wood. The only negative thing I could say about this item thus far is the solution/water tank isn't ideal, it's a little small causing a few trips to refill for larger floors. The dirty water tank is an adequate size. I've only used mine a few times so the bristle wear is still not known and the longetivity of the machine is still unknown. With all this said I highly recommend anyone this machine to anyone looking for a great hard surface cleaner !

i have had a few floor mates and this model, by far, is the best hoover has made. the newer versions with the two tanks do not clean as well as the original. love this product!!!!!

This item is great!! I love it!! It cleans really well & vacuums up the dirty water leaving you with a clean dry floor.... Best of all you can also use the dry feature to clean up wet spills as long as they are less than a quart otherwise empty the tank & keep drying lol. .. So far I have cleaned up laundry detergent, water, & I hate to say this but urine from a toddler who didn't go potty... Best part is you dry it up switch to wash scrub that area then dry it again & there is no memory of the disaster remaining...

I bought this 5 days ago. But i was given 1 3 years ago and it still works great. Thought i would buy a backup . Because when something works good they usually discontinue it. I love the Hoover Floormates , great engineering and an awsome product.
