Luxurious Rug
A very unusual rug. Instead of the usual two ply yarn for the shag, this rug has individual strands of felted wool that are each approx. 3/8" thick. Color is deep black with an occasional dark brown tip at the ends of the yarn (does not distract from the color which is the darkest black imaginable.) Luxurious. Extremely thick. No bare spots. Ends of the rug are woven without felted yarn and turned over which is a very good design touch. Means that the rug ends cannot fray. (Am an experienced hand weaver and this rug is very well made.) Lives in bathroom in front of shower/tub area. Wanted a soft wool in black, and the felted part meant that wouldn't have to worry about the rug getting a bit of moisture from wet feet. Rug looks wonderful against the white cotton shower curtain. Am adding a huge splash of color to the wall with a piece of artwork. My bathroom looks like it stepped out of a contemporary picture in an expensive home magazine. Oh, this rug wool is very soft. It looked so wonderful and inviting just had to lay down on it! Highly recommend. Only one small concern would be vacuuming care. Do not use beater bar.

Trying to Love this Rug
This rug is incredibly soft and plush! It is so comfortable to walk on and adds so much warmth to the room. We get lots of compliments on it. The shag is very dense and thick. The only problem is how much it sheds. We expected this with any wool rug but we vacuum it constantly and it clogs the vacuum all the time. Had this rug about a month and hoping this problem will get a little better.

Beautiful and bold purple wool adds lots of depth
We bought this rug for a room next to a main living space, that doesn't get a lot of heavy traffic. It is very thick and luxurious. The pile is very high, and the fact that it is felted gives it a thickness and sturdiness that I haven't felt in many other rugs. The color is just as advertised in the photos, and the rug arrived in great condition and well packaged. It is a very pretty rug and I think we will keep it for a long time to come. However, there are two things that concern me about it. First, it has shed a *lot* since we bought it. Vacuuming it filled a brand new, empty canister vacuum bag in a matter of minutes upon the first vacuuming. This happened much for the first few months--lots of bags were changed! We also have an air purifier near this rug, and the filter was pretty much full of purple fibers initially for several weeks, necessitating several filter changes. The shedding is decreasing with repeated vacuuming, but it was far more than any rug I have ever owned. Second, because the pile is so thick and tall, it is *very* difficult to vacuum well. We actually often take the floor attachment off and just poke at the rug with the vacuum tube to get up any big debris (cheerios or leaves or other things left by our child) that falls to the bottom of the pile. So, if you don't mind a lot of initial shedding, and you don't mind a bit of a challenge with vacuuming, then this rug is worth it because it is so thick and beautiful and rich in color. I would not place it in a high traffic area where it required lots of cleaning, however (although if you did, the dark color would certainly help). We use a non slip eco friendly rug pad purchased elsewhere with this rug. Overall I highly recommend this rug.

not what I expected
I thought I was ordering a shag area rug and what I got was anything but shap. It is made up of approx 1inch in diam plugs uf extremely soft carpet and they are about 1.5 inches long. I can not adequeatly describe how interesting it is to see and walk on. My only negative comment is that it sheds terribly.

got 2 of these. expected them to be more white based on picture but i know its difficult to tell actual color based on what you see on a computer screen. However they are really nice looking and soooooo plush. shedding at first is crazy but its all worth it. Gives me a modern 80's vibe. No idea how to clean it yet but i bet its gonna be a nightmare.

dont buy this rug. it sheds like crazy . whole house is full of red wool . including the clothes in dryer lint. the dog is all red wool . now 8 months is over we see this never stops. we are worried we are inhaling it.
