"Does the headboard attach to the standard metal frame? If so, how?"
The headboard had a strong smell of paint but it is dissipating. It took several attempts to get the top board attached but once it was finished it looked great. It is shorter than I expected. The shams must be flat to see the headboard but I am still pleased with the product. It is a good product for a good price.

Wouldn't buy again This bed is very cute and pretty sturdy. But the paint fumes were so strong that I had to put it on my back patio for 2 days. The smell is still there slightly. I am using it for staging a room so i kept them. But I would never let a child sleep in it.

Guest room refresh Updated the guest room. Added the headboard to existing bedframe. Took longer to ship than expected. Smelled strongly of fresh paint, but paint was totally cured. Bolts that were included were 2 inches too long and had to be replaced so that they didn't dig into the wall. Looks great for a room that won't be used every day.
