A nice solid wood unit that is put together (by you) with wood screws and dowels. Plenty of room and extra shelves are available but I didn't need them. A nice large drawer but I would have liked a brace in the middle of the underside. I'm using it for spare bedding.

My husband & I managed to assemble wardrobe (took awhile but we're still speaking!). Nice strong quality wood-very heavy. As far as adding a second bar for hanging - you would have to purchase it and fit it yourself. I do think you could remove the shelves and replace them with the rod although I'm not a carpenter. I do think you would need one or the other for the stability of the piece.

The 4th photo of the photo carousel shows the interior of the wardrobe. Since the shelves are adjustable, you are able to configure the length needed to hang clothes. Each interior rod will measure approximately 17.5 inches inches wide x 17.5 inches deep.

As the designers and importers of this line of furniture we provide an iron clad guarantee that every single part is made of 100% Solid Pine Wood, not particleboard, not MDF. To prevent cracking and to improve the aesthetics each part is also covered with wood veneer on both sides. The drawer bottoms and the back panels are made of plywood, the material which is made of wood veneer glued together. The timber comes from the tree farms in many cases owned by the manufacturers. The assembly is time consuming, but not difficult. Detailed pictorial assembly instructions are provided and the furniture parts labeled. The only instruments needed are a screwdriver/drill and a hammer to nail the back panels.

Bill, this is a 16 oz. in 1 lb. 100% Solid Wood Wardrobe where every single part (except the metal hardware) uses wood as raw material. The back panels as well as the drawer bottoms are made of 100% 5/32” (4 mm) Plywood which is made of wood as well. In fact, to improve the quality of the product mostly aesthetically but also structurally, every part will have wood veneer on top of 100% Solid Wood panels starting with the April, 2015 shipments.

This wardrobe ships KD (knocked down) in two flat boxes to lower the transportation expenses and make it as reasonably priced as possible. There are clear pictorial assembly instructions included. It’s very important to follow each assembly step exactly as described and in the same order. When using power tools please turn the torque to the lower setting to avoid cracking pine wood. The assembly is simple, but will take at least several hours to complete. IMPORTANT: For the lock to work, a “lip” (a strip of plywood the length of a door) has to be attached to the left door. Please do not mistake it for packaging material!
