I just finished assembling this tv stand and I'm fairly happy with it! I purchased it with the intention of not using that horrible grey sliding door as I prefer the natural wood look, especially on pieces that are mid century styled. Upon opening the box (which was horribly damaged but everything inside was unharmed) I noticed the color was a little more ash that pictured , which I was kind of bummed about. It's definitely still a brown but my monitor made it look a little more warm than it actually is.
The piece is very easy to put together, especially if you have ever assembled anything ever in your life. The instructions say it's a 2 hour, 2 person job but I, a tall thin 27 year old female who can't do a push up, assembled it alone in about an hour including opening, unpacking and sorting pieces.
I had a little problem with holes not lining up while attaching the legs but it only created a small delay and still went together.
I decided to try the door after recovering it with a wood grain contact paper, to see if I could tolerate it. After covering the door, I installed it on the piece to find that it slides very nicely! I really wish it was the same color as the rest of the piece with a brass handle to give it a more vintage-y look. I might just make a new sliding door with my own hardware to match it a little better. Overall, a decent piece for a decent price. I'll probably upgrade eventually but for now, this gets the job done!
