This machine has a "pipe" attachment that you can use as a drain. My husband went to the hardware store and purchased a piece of plastic tubing and attached it to that opening instead of using the "pipe". We placed the machine on the countertop next to the sink in the basement laundry area and the water runs down the drain. It does a great job!
