Elegant looking and strong base, it does the job for our umbrella. Exactly like in the picture.

This is advertised as cast aluminum but when it arrived I thought it was very heavy for aluminum. Since aluminum and the bronze it is plated with have NO magnetic properties, I grabbed a refrigerator magnets to test and it sticks to the surface of the base and tube. Without sending this to a metallurgist for analysis I cannot legally validate the material this is made from but my research on the internet shows there should be no magnetic properties and there certainly is!
