I wanted a cushy, real leather counter stool. Be careful what you wish for...they are so cushy it's hard to lean back without sliding off the seat! Also, the proportions are not ideal for a counter stool - they look a bit chunky. I suspect the proportion works better on the bar height stool. On the counter stool, the foot rest is uncomfortably high (you must really bend your knees almost uncomfortably to rest your foot on the bar). Again, I suspect this is not an issue with the bar height stool. The leather is beautiful - we wanted real, not bonded leather. Had hoped the color would be a bit more red, but the color is beautiful and works well with our granite counter. There are two flaws in the stools - one related to the frame, one to the leather - but have decided not to return.
