I bought this cookware set to replace a set that I loaned to a friend while I was in corporate house for quite a while. When I saw my old set, it was pretty much destroyed, so I decided to just replace it and let my friend consider that set as a gift. Every Cuisinart product I have in my kitchen has performed exceptionally well, so I decided to invest in this Cuisinart 17-Piece Cookware Set. After a few weeks of use, I can say without any doubt: I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER with my decision to purchase these. Here is why: Each piece feels substantial and well-built. The hard-anodized exterior of this cookware set is attractive and unblemished after a few weeks of heavy use. Between the exterior and the interior is sandwiched a pure aluminum core. The non-stick interior finish is something Cuisinart calls Quantanium – and it is titanium reinforced. The handles are all riveted stainless steel and as advertised, they remain cool to the touch while cooking. Lids are tempered-glass, which makes checking on things easy, without having to open the lid. The manufacturer says the non-stick interior is metal utensil safe, but I just can’t bring myself to do it—I stick with wood and plastic utensils only, which I hope will extend the life of this set. Hand washing is recommended. However, because the excellent non-stick finish does its job so well, clean-up has always been quick and easy. The sauce pans come in the right sizes for just about any task. I found the pasta and steamer inserts to be great additions to this set and have used them frequently. The 8” & 10” skillets are the perfect size for sautéing and frying and I’ve used the covered 12” skillet to simmer dishes with great success. These pans heat quickly and evenly and may take some getting used to. For sautéing and frying, medium heat is usually more than enough. Cooking sauces and melting cheese and can easily be done at the lowest flame available. I am a picky buyer and spend a lot of time in the kitchen and can’t think of a single gripe with this cookware set after almost a month of use! I highly recommend it for anyone – no matter your cooking skill or frequency of use. As long as you take care of this set (no metal utensils, hand wash & dry), it will last for years and years!

We have used many types of pans and we have always come back to the hard anodized. The classic set is not the top of the line by any means but you really do get a great bargain for the price and the pans are quality. We have gas cooking and these pans are optimal for gas. We have had them for a few months now and they still look brand new as we never put them in the dishwasher (handwashing is recommended or the anodized gets ruined - we learned the hard way years ago). I highly recommend.
