I had an older version of this blender that was one speed with no locking mechanism. I loved that blender and used it regularly for many years so I *thought* buying another Cuisinart immersion hand blender was a no-brainer. Boy was I wrong. This new version has a locking mechanism that in a nutshell, makes blending anything where you need to be able to blend in bursts impossible. This is especially problematic for the mayonnaise I routinely and effortlessly made with my previous blender. Now, I have ruined mayonnaise several times. Blending soup is also a huge pain with this new version. Unless you have a magical third hand that can quickly re-push the locking button while you’re using this, don’t buy it. I wish I still had the box. If I did, I'd send it back in a heartbeat.

It is heavier than I imagined. So if that could be an issue for your small hands or weaker muscles, it may be difficult to use.

This is my second cuisinart immersion blender. What I don't like about this one is that you have to hold down the speed setting, then simultaneously hold down the lock/unlock button on the top of the unit, all while still holding the speed. the moment you take your finger off the speed you have to restart the whole process over again. not the end of the world, but I preferred just being able to plug this in and go.

Does not work like I expected, you must hold the lock button and the high or low button continuously for it to run or I don't know what I am doing. Being a Cuisinart, I expected it to be better

I really love this hand blender, and have used it a few times already since it arrived. It's quick and easy to use, and a breeze to clean. Not one problem whatsoever. Highly recommend this over any other
