"Do I need a boxspring?"
Bed is beautifully upholstered and I would say is a medium gray. Slats are very supportive of my mattress that does not require a boxspring (Saatva). Only complaint we have is the bolt connecting the wing to side panel would not align at all. My husband came up with idea to take one of the screws out of the black plate and he put an extra long screw in its place on both sides. The factory needs to address this because the bolt they gave to put there is too short, it wouldn't go past the side panel thickness.
